DAY 1
+ Cangelosi Sparks White had an eventful and productive day, winning their two games on Day One by a combined score of 20-0. In game one’s 13-0 win, INF Max Michalak (Lemont, IL, 2024) doubled twice and drove in four runs; INF Ryan Cibulka (Benet Academy, IL, 2024) was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. INF Benny Plax (DePaul College Prep, IL, 2024) is a 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect to keep an eye one, and he hit third for North White on Thursday, with a triple. In game two, LHP Max Kaplan (New Trier, IL, 2024) was highly effective, tossing five shutout innings with 10 punch-outs and just two walks. Michalak drove in three more with the help of a double as well.
Sparks North White has yet to allow a run today through one and a half games, and LHP Max Kaplan (New Trier, IL, 2024) has K’d six through four to keep that up. Athletic, clean arm; 74-75 mph, some jump. CB feel, depth, locates, 61-63 mph.#PBRatTheRock | @Sparks_North pic.twitter.com/rSRYRWghw5

+ Brew State Baseball Academy is 2-0 after Day One, and RHP Nate Vaughn’s (Sussex Hamilton, 2024) six shutout innings were responsible for their first win in the morning. C Lincoln Ascher (Kettle Moraine, 2024) showed as a follow prospect in the state, as a physical right-handed hitter who recorded a pair of hits on Thursday, including a hard-hit double. Jordan Hedrick (WI, 2024) went 3-for-3 with two doubles in game two to motor Brew State in a back-and-forth win.

+ Forceout Baseball Club defeated The GRB Rays White 15U 11-7. Robert Barrera went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Nate Lindner was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Lindner took the win on the mound, hurling six innings and striking out three, holding GRB White to just five hits during his outing. For GRB White, Ethan Stengel tripled and brought three runners home, finishing with two hits total.
+ PTA Cardinal 15U defeated the Illinois Indians Navy 8-5. OF Jackson Phelps (Oak Creek, 2024) led the charge for PTA Cardinal with a two-run blast. INF Kyle Alivo (St. Thomas More, 2024) RHP/INF Tyler Conger (Waukesha South, 2024), and OF/RHP Joey Halser (Marquette, 2024) all had two hits in the win. Conger strung together a quality outing for Cardinal on the bump, allowing just two earned runs over 5.2 innings, striking out nine. Evan Niernberg led the Indians with two doubles in the loss.
+ Illinois Indians Navy bounced back valiantly after an early loss to win their second game of the day 11-0. Evan Niernberg continued to swing it well for the Indians with a single and two RBIs. Cody Yakimisky threw four shutout innings for the Indians, bumping a 76 mph high on his fastball.
+ Arguably the top prospect showing of the day went to RHP Ryan Anderson (Minooka, 2024). Anderson is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound right-hander with a highly athletic and projectable frame. He operates extremely easy sitting 84-85 mph and topping at 86 mph. His breaking ball looks even more improved from what we saw in the preseason, a tight, late breaking ball he throws it confidently at 72-75, and acts almost like a slider at times.

+ It was an impressive all-around offensive effort from CBT Black 15U in their 15-6 win over Hounds Baseball Thursday night. 1B Abe Coronado (Kimberly, 2024) is a physical 6-foot, 225-pound right-handed bat that took a handful of physical hacks yesterday, driving a triple into the opposite field gap and finishing the day with five RBIs. OF/RHP Sawyer Deering (Kimberly, 2025) continues to cement himself as one of the top incoming freshmen in the state, barreling up three baseballs for hits, including a triple to right field. Brennen Grams (2024), C Dimitry Edmunds (2024), and Lucas Siebold (2024) all had two hits in the Wolfpack win.
Playing up a level, ‘25 RHP/OF Sawyer Deering (@thekimberlybase) juices this one to deep RF before it’s ultimately caught. On the barrel all day, including an oppo 3B earlier in the game. Competes in the box, athletic high-follow ‘25 in the state. #PBRatTheRock | @cbtwolfpack pic.twitter.com/ayodfo7wsb

+ The most impressive team that we saw on Thursday played in our final game slot, Minnesota MASH (Vocca). The lineup, top to bottom, is filled with upside athletes and frames, underscored by 3B Nick Brandt (Eastview, MN, 2024), who’s listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. Brandt hit what were, possibly, the day’s two hardest hit balls: a double that split the left-center gap, and a ground-rule double that traveled to the deepest part of the Giants replica field in the right-center gap. Brandt’s impact physicality in the batter’s box, and fast/athletic swing, make him a high-follow this weekend.
Nick Brandt (⤵️) again. Crushes a ball into the right-center gap for a ground-rule double. Really quick, aggressive right-handed swing with an impactful batted-ball profile.

MASH starter LHP Max Arlich (East Ridge, MN, 2024) was dominant in his three innings, requiring just 48 pitches to strike out eight batters without allowing a hit, walking just one. He lived in the 83-85 mph range, working quick, controlling the tempo. Elsewhere in the lineup, 6-foot-2, 185-pound INF Ryan Vosper (Shakopee, MN, 2024) also looks like a high-follow ‘24 in Minnesota, and he doubled and drove in four runs.
LHP Max Arlich (East Ridge, MN, 2024) is in cruise control tonight, owning the tempo.

+ Our day capped off with a competitive, hard-fought competitive battle between Top Tier 2024 and Phenom Illinois 15U White that ultimately ended in a 6-5 win for Top Tier. LHP/OF Brandon Schultz (Stevenson, 2024) had three hits and scored three runs out of the leadoff spot for Top Tier. Both C Eloy Suarez (Hoffman Estates, 2024; Illinois State) and INF/RHP Luke Oblen (DePaul Prep, 2024; Louisville) each had two hits and two RBIs in the win. Despite the loss, RHP Malachi Paplanus (Huntley, 2024) continues to solidify himself as one of the top ‘24 arms in the Prairie State, twirling a competitive four-inning outing for Phenom, allowing just one earned run and striking out eight.
