Eastern Illinois commit. Currently ranked No. 62 in the state. Started in centerfield and hit out of the two-hole for the Patriots. Advanced defender in the outfield, made a great diving catch to save extra-bases, easy range to both sides with a quick first step, quality reads off the bat, natural defender. Quick, flat left-handed swing, strong hands work flat through the zone, showed ability to turn on the inside fastball, ripping a double to his pull-side. Quick out of the box, recorded a 4.20 down the line and 4.60 on a turn.

Eastern Illinois signee. Schultz had a quality week for the Patriots, going 5-for-19 with two home runs, two doubles, four RBIs, seven runs scored and one walk. His most impressive game of the week came in their 6-2 win over Loyola Academy, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, one double, three RBIs, three runs scored and a walk.

OF Brandon Schultz (Stevenson, 2024) ran one of the event’s fastest 60-yard dash times, blazing to a 6.62 60-yard dash and reaching a peak speed of 21.1 mph. Schultz’s speed translated to the gameplay portion of this event, and his bat strength showed in BP, peaking at 96.9 mph with a 351 foot max distance. Schultz had a couple of hits throughout the week and his speed played on the bases. In the outfield he topped out at 85 mph on the workout day.

Body: 5-9, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Up-tempo delivery, quick side-step into leg-lift, tall/fall action down the mound, shoulders work level to slightly downhill while striding out, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: LH. Short compact action into a 3/4 slot.
FB: T83, 79-82 mph. Plays with sinking action through the zone. T1984, 1878 average rpm.
CB: 69-73 mph. Tight shape off a 1/7 plane. T2088, 1973 average rpm.
SL: 74-76 mph. Short 1/7 shape, some feel for the zone. T2150, 2122 average rpm.
CH: 72-73 mph. Mostly straight through the zone. T2022, 1956 average rpm.

Hits: LHH. Squared, balanced setup, minimal load. Strong hands, works uphill, pull-side approach with occasional lift. Was on the barrel and causing havoc with his speed on the bases during game play.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 87.4 MPH. 351' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-85 mph. Short, compact arm action, low 3/4 slot and gets carry.
Defense: Sure-hands, secures the baseball, clean release.
Run: 6.62 runner in the 60.

Body: 5-8, 165-pounds. Broad shoulders. Strong lower half.
Hit: LHH. Wide setup, quiet load and short stride. Strong hands, rotational swing, pull-side tendencies.
Power: 96.3 max exit velocity, averaged 75 mph. 320’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 80 mph. Short, loose arm action. Works from a high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Quick lateral movements. Athletic actions.
Run: 6.75 runner in the 60.

Another outfielder who put up some impressive numbers was left-handed hitter Brandon Schultz (Stevenson). Schultz ran a 6.75 60, the second-best time of the event and made hard pull-side contact at the plate, recording a peak exit velocity of 96 mph off the bat.

Positional Profile: LHP/OF; Emerged as one of the top 2024 left-handed arms we have seen to-date.
Body: 5-foot-8, 151-pounds. Strength in the lower half.
Delivery: Uptempo hurried windup into balance point; works clean and in rhythm coming out of balance point. Slight drop and drive action, lands square.
Arm Action: LH. Short, lively arm that plays quick out of a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. Jumps out of the hand, late life and finish through the zone. Showed control, works mostly straight. T2141, 2083 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. Separator offering. Flashed slider action with wipeout, out-pitch potential. Showed feel, ability to back-foot right-handed hitters. 1/7 to 2/8 shape, late bite. Quality offering for a 2024. T2416, 2316 average rpm.
CH: 71-73 mph. Works mostly straight, occasional cut. T2261, 2068 average rpm.

LHP Brandon Schultz (Stevenson): Schultz sat 84-85 mph, touching an 85.7 max, to earn high-follow status as a freshman in McHenry. He flashed a swing-and-miss breaking ball, which has the shape and action of a slider, consistently throwing it on the backfoot of right-handed hitters while spinning at an average rate of 2,316 rpm (2,416 max).

5-foot-6, 140-pound left/left prospect. Athletic, compact frame. Short arm action, ¾ slot. Smooth tall and fall type delivery, upright at balance point, level front side, stays in line with target. Worked in a fluid rhythm throughout the outing. Fastball sat between 76-79 mph, touching 80 mph with natural arm-side run. Slider plays between 69-71 mph, works down in the zone, used sparingly.

Body: 5-6, 140-pounds. Strong lower half.
Hit: LH. Balanced setup, quick leg kick trigger.  Uphill path.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.18 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Methodical tall/fall delivery, high leg kick, short stride downhill, upright finish.
Arm Action: LH. Short arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 76-78 mph.
CB: 60-64 mph. 1/7 shape with some depth.
CH: 65-68 mph. Near fastball arm speed. Plays straight. Strikes.
