The NCAA early signing period starts November 14th. With the start of the fall signing period upon us, we look to break down each individual Division 1 commitment from in-state prospects, where they are headed and what tools they will bring with them.

Overview: 2018 marks the beginning of a new era in Mt. Pleasant as Coach Bischel looks to build on the great legacy left by Coach Jaska. Brining in 8 players from the state of Michigan that play a variety of positions it seems the staff has an emphasis on bringing in athletic talent.

Cole Agemy OF / RHP / Warren De Lasalle, MI / 2019

Report: Cole has good arm strength and a heavy feel to his pitches. Fastball has been in the upper 80’s along with two off speed pitches, he will certainly be a guy to follow at CMU.

Drew Alsobrooks LHP / OF / Livonia Churchill, MI / 2019

Report: 2017 member of the Future Games Drew is a power arm from the left side with a hard breaking slider.  He should compete right away for an opportunity to join the rotation.

Zach Brunet SS / RHP / Walled Lake Northern, MI / 2019

Report: Zach is a smooth fielding middle infielder that can play both at SS or 2B. Attacks the ball well and has quick release. Top of the order type of hitter who set the table.

Nick Dardas C / RHP / Bay City Western, MI / 2019

Report: Another Future Games participant will land on campus and make his presence felt. Nick is the epitome of a gamer. Plays all over the diamond with a hard nose gritty approach. Solid catcher who brings middle infield skills behind the plate.

Jakob Marsee OF / LHP / Allen Park, MI / 2019

Report: Marsee is an athletic OF who is fun to watch play the game. Gap to gap hitter with some power. Has good speed that will be needed at CMU’s ballpark. Marsee could see a lot of time right away.

Kyle Nott C / SS / Jenison, MI / 2019

Report: Kyle is an athletic prospect, with strong defensive ability behind the plate. Yet athletic enough to potentially move to the OF. Big time HS football player.

Andrew Taylor RHP / OF / Caledonia, MI / 2019

Report: Andrew is the model of slow and steady wins the race. He continues to get better each time you see him. A tall wiry framed arm has an opportunity to be special. Fastball has been clocked in the upper 80’s. He will continue to develop with the staff at CMU.

Kevin Tuttle SS / C / Riverview Gabriel Richard, MI / 2019

Report: Kevin is an athletic and versatile prospect that fits with the new CMU approach. More than capable catcher that can also play around the infield. He will battle from day one.

Overview: Coach Eric Roof brought in one of the strongest classes in 2017 for the state of Michigan and continues to build. A program on the rise with elite coaching has prospects that will certainly fit in with the culture.

Report: Long framed prospect has a projectable frame that will continue to fill out in a college lifting program. On the mound he could potentially earn innings as a freshman. The velocity will climb as he continues to mature. Creates leverage on his swing.

Tyler Helgeson RHP / SS / Portage Northern, MI / 2019

Report: 6th ranked player in the class has the ability to be a two way player for the Eagles. Fast hands at the plate swinging from the left side. Gap to gap hitter with power. On the mound has an upper 80’s fastball.

Luke Russo RHP / SS / Howell, MI / 2019

Report: Luke is a tall RHP with a fast arm, delivering from a high ¾ arm angle. Shows late action on his fastball and features a swing and miss curve.

Anthony Sharkas OF / OF / Plymouth, MI / 2019

Report: Anthony is a 6-foot-3, 180 pound OF that is growing into his frame. High ceiling player with a great work ethic. Moves well enough to stay in CF at the next level. At the plate drives the ball with power, that will make him a run producer at the next level.

Braedon Stoakes OF / RHP / Grand Ledge, MI / 2019

Report: Stoakes is simply a gamer. May be the fastest player in the class. Has a ton of tools. On the mound has been clocked in the upper 80’s, can hit the ball out the yard and run the ball down in the OF.

Cameron Wagoner RHP / OF / Tecumseh, MI / 2019

Report: 5th ranked player in the class has a high ceiling and should immediately challenge for a weekend rotation spot. Wagoner has ran his fastball into the low 90’s. Lots of room to continue filling out his frame. He is expected to have a draft buzz surrounding him this June.

Overview: Bakich landed two players ranked in the top ten for the Michigan 2019 class. Power hitting OF and the top LHP in the class. The Wolverines are looking to make another run to the College Super Regionals.

Colin Czajkowski LHP / OF / Woodhaven, MI / 2019

Report: Colin is a long lanky LHP that knows how to pitch. The type of pitcher that will gain velocity when he gets on a college lifting program. Fastball has been in the upper 80’s with natural lefty movement along with quality off speed. He should make some noise at U of M.

Report: Tito has improved his footspeed and added strength making himself into arguably the top non pitching prospect in the state. Big time power at the plate, consistently drives the ball. Sub 7.0 sixty yard time. Tito could be on the field from day one.

Overview: Coach Boss looks to bring a Big Ten title to East Lansing matching his basketball counterpart. State lands the top prospect in Michigan, as well as 3 other top 50 prospects. Power seems to be the trend with power bats and power arms.

Report: Adam is a two sport athlete being recruited both for his pitching and football play. For baseball he is a power arm that throws downhill. Pounds the zone with a heavy feel. He could be the sleeper of the class with big upside.

Dillon Kark SS / RHP / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2019

Report: Kark is a versatile weapon that can play up the middle, play 3B and run his fastball to the plate in the upper 80’s. During the Catholic League Finals smashed a HR over the LF fence at Comerica Park.

Christopher Mokma RHP / 1B / Holland Christian, MI / 2019

Report: Chris is the state’s top ranked player, he’s a pitcher that can dominate a ball game each time he steps on the mound. Recorded a perfect game last season. Has started to receive draft attention, also participated in the East Coast Pro Showcase this past summer. Fastball has been up to 94 mph.

Jack Orlowski 3B / OF / Brother Rice, MI / 2019

Report: Jack is physically well put together and creates an imposing presence to pitchers. Big time power hitter who has yet to find a ball park that can hold him. Jack will hit.

Overview: The Grizzlies continue to bring in high level prospects year after year, as they look to rebuild the program. Oakland arguably has the top class in the early signing period, bringing in a lot of depth.

Report: Cavin is a vocal leader who has big time game. At the plate brings a 100 mph exit velocity with fast hands. Drives the ball to all fields with pull power. Lockdown defensive catcher who blocks and throws very well. Could challenge for playing time day one.

Emmanuel Clark 1B / OF / Western International, MI / 2019

Report: Clark is a left hand hitting prospect that can swing the bat. Had a two homerun game at the Black Swamp this summer. Athletic frame, moves well could allow for a position change to the corner OF in college.

Andrew Jacoby RHP / 1B / Central Montcalm, MI / 2019

Report: Andrew was the opening game starter at the Future Games in 2017. Power arm with a high ceiling. Throws downhill with an upper 80’s fastball. Mixes in a curve. He could pitch meaningful innings in his freshman year.

Nicholas Rutkowski RHP / SS / Stevenson, MI / 2019

Report: Nick wins ball games! Each time you hand him the ball you have a shot at winning the game. Commands three pitches well and runs his fastball up to the high 80’s. High character and great work ethic.

RJ Sherwood RHP / SS / Belleville, MI / 2019

Report: RJ made a splash last summer as an athletic prospect with big time upside. Whippy arm that easily hits the upper 80’s. As he continues to add weight and physically mature the velocity will continue to grow.
