Updated Class of 2023 Player Rankings (September)
2021 brought back high school baseball in the state of Michigan where four schools were crowned champions. The state of Michigan has become a hotbed of talent throughout the country placing numerous players at various levels into colleges as well as multiple draft picks. As we close out the summer and move into fall baseball as well as other fall sports we had the opportunity to see hundreds of prospects throughout the summer and present our updated class rankings.
Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.
That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.
Below we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", “Cracks The Top Ten", "The Risers”, "The Gamers", "The Sleepers", "Don't sleep on these arms”, and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What’s New At The Top
The Top five slots hold steady with a slight change between four and five.
Jarren Purify SS / 3B / University Liggett, MI / 2023Report: Jarren Purify maintains the number one spot after winning a state championship playing shortstop for Liggett, he is a University of Michigan commit. |
Drew Titsworth RHP / OF / Frankenmuth, MI / 2023Report: Drew Titsworth is still an arm to see across the country throwing in the 90s and dominating hitters, also a University of Michigan Commit. |
Evan Haeger OF / LHP / Detroit Catholic Central, MI / 2023Report: Evan Haeger is only 16 years old but it feels like he’s been around for a long time. Big time athlete who runs a 6.59 sixty while showing range in the OF and pop at the plate, Alabama commit. |
Parker Picot SS / RHP / Rochester Adams, MI / 2023Report: Parker Picot snags the number four slot, as a two-way prospect who also plays football. Physically mature framed athlete runs a 6.56 sixty and has an 88 mph fastball, also committed to Alabama. Rounding out the top five is Blake Grimmer, a polished left hand swing while playing shortstop. Blame is a Tennessee commit. |
Cracks The Top Ten
Kyle Remington OF / RHP / Grand Rapids Christian, MI / 2023Report: Kyle Remington cracks the top ten moving into the 8th slot. A OF/RHP was a member of the 2020 Team Michigan At the Future Games, one of three freshmen to make the roster. Dazzled on the mound cruising through two innings of work with less than 20 pitches thrown. Features a fastball up to 88 mph, 11/5 shape curve and change up. A left hand hitter has an 90 mph exit velocity while running a 6.85 sixty and throwing 95 mph from the OF. A Minnesota commit. |
The Risers
Wyatt Novara LHP / OF / Dexter, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 1
Report: LHP Wyatt Novara is a 6-foot-3, 190 pound prospect that impressed the entire summer. Strong lower half arm drives well downhill throwing with a quick arm. Was one of the top arms at the Top Prospect Games this summer earning his trip to the Future Games where he earned his scholarship offer to University of Michigan later committing. Up to 88 mph on the hill. |
Gavin Moczydlowsky RHP / 3B / New Boston Huron, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 5
Report: RHP Gavin Moczydlowsky is a 6-foot, 195 pound strong bodied arm that understands how to command the zone. Has the ability to throw all of his pitches in any count while running his fastball up to 90 mph. Tested his ability on the national scale and saw he belonged. Completely dominated during his time on the mound at the future games. Michigan State Commit. |
Jonah St. Antoine SS / RHP / Forest Hills Northern, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 6
Report: SS Jonah St. Antoine is a 5-foot-11, 170 pound middle infield prospect that can flat out play. Left hand hitting prospect belongs at the top of the order with gap to gap ability posting a 96 mph exit velocity with a max distance of 360 feet. Good range in the field with an 86 mph infield velocity should allow him to stick at SS. |
The Gamers
Ryan McKay 2B / SS / St. Marys Preparatory School, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 1
Report: Ryan McKay is a 5-foot-9, 170 pound left hand hitting middle infielder with a high sense of his barrel. Elite barrel control with developing power potential, hit seven home runs this year posting a 93 mph exit velocity. Sure hand infielder that runs a 6.73 sixty. McKay came up with one of the biggest hits on the season for Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in the catholic league playoffs smashing a triple to send the game into extra innings. Carried that success into the Future Games where he continued to show elite bat control. |
Sebastian Jaimes C / 3B / Western international, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 2
Report: 3B/C Sebastian Jaimes is a 6-foot, 220 pound sure hand prospect that is a standout with his lateral mobility at 3B and clean glove exchange behind the dish. Sebastian has been a top player in the class since the age of 10 and continues to be one of the top guys. One of the top performers of Team Michigan at the Future Games made one out the entire weekend. 1.92- 2.00 pop time with a 96 mph exit velocity. |
Nathan Ball 1B / RHP / Bay City John Glenn, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 1
Report: Nathan Ball is a 6-foot-4, 225 pound corner infield prospect that also plays football. The football aggression is displayed at the plate when he crushes balls. Was one of the top hitters in the entire Future Games picking up multiple extra base hits driving in runners. 93 mph exit velocity and has hit multiple balls over 340 feet. Also is able to get on the mound and show a 3 pitch combination running his fastball up to 84 mph. |
Wells Graham SS / RHP / Grosse Pointe South, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 9
Report: Wells Graham is a 5-foot-10, 161 pound SS/RHP that fits the label gamer. He helps your team win whether he’s on the mound or in the field. Line drive hitter that has shown some power at the plate posting an 88 mph exit velocity. 6.78 sixty time while showing a low 80’s fastball on the hill with a spin rate in the 2200's. |
Adrian Epps OF / 2B / West Bloomfield, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 39 / POS: 8
Report: OF Adrian Epps is a 5-foot-9, 170 pound two sport athlete that also plays defensive back in football. Strong lower half prospect has an explosive first step and plays much faster than his 6.98 sixty time indicates. Made arguably the best play of the Future Games running down a ball over the shoulder to the fence in CF. 93 mph exit velocity at the plate with an 85 mph outfield velocity. |
The Sleepers
Abel Gutierrez 2B / C / Western International, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 58 / POS: 3
Report: Abel Gutierrez is a 5-foot-9, 145 pound middle infield and catching prospect that showcases qualities at both positions you grow to love. Nose in the dirt hard worker that has shifty hips and a smooth transfer. Abel is a hard hat to work player that leaves it all on the diamond. 1.99-2.05 pop time behind the plate with an 86 mph exit velocity. |
Andrew Loikits SS / RHP / St. Joesph, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 66 / POS: 12
Report: Andrew Loikits is a 6-foot, 169 pound middle infield prospect that was one of the better prospects we saw all summer. Showcased tools at each position for the high school level. Ran a 6.84 sixty time while throwing 86 mph across the diamond and posting a 95 mph exit velocity. Also jumped on the mound showing a fastball, curve, slider combination with his fastball up to 82 mph. |
Jesse Saldana LHP / OF / Marshall, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 85 / POS: 7
Report: Jesse Saldana is a 5-foot-11, 165 pound left hand LHP/OF prospect that has a long athletic frame with wiry strength. He is a fun hitter to watch as he creates leverage at the plate driving balls into the gap with authority. Aggressive OF that can potentially stick in CF at the next level. On the mound fills up the zone with natural run on his fastball up to 81 mph. |
Don’t Sleep On These Arms
Andrew Abler RHP / 1B / Novi, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 10
Report: RHP Andrew Abler is a 6-foot-1, 190 pound prospect that showed clean arm action and good command on the mound. A three pitch guy that works both sides of the zone well with late life on his fastball. Fastball has been up to 87 mph with a spin rate in the 2200’s. Also plays corner infield and has a 94 mph exit velocity. |
Ryan Sieler RHP / 3B / Monroe, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 17
Report: RHP Ryan Sieler is a 6-foot-1, 175 pound prospect that works with an upbeat motion and throws with a quick arm from a high ¾ arm angle. Shows a lot of movement on his pitches and the ability to pitch up in the strike zone. Fastball sat 84-87 while getting up to 88 mph with a spin rate in the 2200’s. Hard, late breaking curve with spin rates in the 2000’s. High level prospect that won’t last on the uncommitted board long. |
Gavin DeVooght RHP / 3B / Walled Lake Central, MI / 2023Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 14
Report: RHP Gavin Devooght is a 6-foot-4, 185 pound prospect that shows the ability to work downhill from a high ¾ arm angle. Fastball has been clocked as high as 87 mph with spin rates in the 2300’s. Big time curve ball with spin rates in the 2400’s that produces swing and miss results. Also shows raw power at the plate posting a 94 mph exit velocity. |
