TELL US MORE...

Tell us about your commitment to Duke. Why did you decide on your school?
Out of the hundreds of universities across the country and multiple conversations I had with schools, there was no feeling quite the same as stepping on the campus of Duke University. Knowing I will receive a degree from the most prestigious school following my academic and athletic career goes unmatched. The endless opportunities following my college years was also a huge reason I chose Duke. Aside from academics, the atmosphere of the school is like no other. The ability to play baseball and attend other sporting events to show my support will be taken with me forever. Also, the lifelong relationships and friendships that will be made at Duke are going to be very important to me.

The offseason is upon us. Tell us a little about your off-season training:
I typically take a break from throwing November through the end of December. My throwing program involves long toss, band work, weights and flexibility training. I work with a strength and conditioning coach five times a week to keep me in the best shape I can be. I am in the cages five to six times a week working on my swing.

Baseball is a game built on adversity & failure. How have you dealt with the the ups & downs the game brings? Who might have helped you along the way?
I have dealt with the ups and downs of baseball and always work on remaining humble. I never let a high moment get to me and never let a low moment define me as a person/player. My parents and coaches have supported me in these situations no matter the outcome, and have always been there for me.

Who is your biggest influence in the game today?
I want to be the type of player that Mike Trout and Nolan Arenado are. They remain humble, are there for the kids, and work in silence. I am influenced and want to model my game after them as I continue throughout my career.

Best player you ever shared the field with and why?
Two of the best guys I’ve played with were 2020 3B Jordan Walker (Decatur/Duke Commit) and 2020 MIF Harold Coll (Georgia Premeir/ North Carolina Commit) Their presence was definitely felt and I enjoyed being on the same team they were.

How has your experience been with Prep Baseball Report?
Prep Baseball Report was where my recruiting process really started off. I was given an outline of numbers ever since my first event and was able to see my growth through numerous events I attended.
