Another name-to-know prospect in the Illinois’ 2025 class that has shown well in a number of looks this summer and again at the event was OF/RHP Cooper Eggert (Providence Catholic). Physically, Eggert really looks the part in a uniform, boasting a presently strong 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add on. A left-handed bat, Eggert got off several ‘A’ swings throughout BP and the ball jumped off his barrel with ease when he found it. He averaged 87.4 mph per batted ball, reaching a max exit velocity of 96.4 mph and peak distance of 346 feet, per TrackMan. Eggert is also a follow on the mound, pitching in the low-80s at this event with feel to spin a 2300+ RPM breaking ball. 

Uncommitted. Lean, projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, left-handed hitting outfielder. Started in left field and hit seventh for the Celtics in this look. Finished 1-for-4 on the day with a clutch RBI double that put Providence Catholic ahead in a key spot at the time. Quiet setup with slight bend in the lower half, minimal load. Athletic hands, capable and comfortable of driving the ball to all fields, line drive approach. Quick first step in the outfield, showed arm strength in pregame I/O. Also hopped on the mound later in the contest, pumping his fastball in the low-80s, touching 84 mph. A prospect to follow in the Illinois’ 2025 class.

Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. INF - 71 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 arm slot on infield, high 3/4 from behind the plate.
Hit: LHH. Balanced setup, short stride, easy pre-pitch actions. Aggressive swing, flashes bat speed, path works uphill, pull-side approach.
Power: 77 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.69 runner in the 60.
