At 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, LHP David Leung (Hinsdale Central, 2025) is another upside, projectable southpaw from this event. Leung’s fastball played at 80-82 mph from a loose, clean arm stroke, working the bottom of the zone for strikes. His changeup, a pitch that played at 72-75 mph, maintained fastball plane throughout, averaging 15.5 inches of horizontal movement. A name that’s shown well in front of our staff previously, Leung’s stock could certainly rise after a productive off-season.

Delivery: Drop/drive type delivery, athletic at balance point and gains momentum towards target, stays closed throughout to footstrike, Works in line to target, athletic finish.
Arm Action: LH. Arm plays with some length on the backside, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T81.5, 80-81 mph. Comes out clean and jumps into the lower-half of the zone. T2178, 2088 average rpm.
CB: 64-65 mph. 1/7 shape with some depth and lateral spin. T1871, 1824 average rpm.
CH: 72-74 mph. Maintains arm-speed, similar to fastball and plays down in the zone. T2171, 2110 average rpm.

LHP David Leung (Hinsdale Central, 2025) has some upside in his 6-foot, 170-pound frame. With a clean high ¾ slot, Leung showed a developing four-pitch mix that shows promise and pitchability. His fastball hovered in the 79-81 mph range, topping out at 82 mph with slight sinking action to his arm-side. He flashed a well-above average changeup with late fade and sink, thrown for strikes at 75-77 mph. He showed two different breaking balls throughout his pen; the first being a cutter/slider at 71-74 mph, playing with short 10/4 shape. The second breaking ball he showed was a sharp 1/7 curveball, playing with depth at 64-66 mph.

Delivery: Smooth, deliberate delivery. Fluid tempo. Works on line to target. Falls off to the first base side at times.
Arm Action: LH. Wraps arm behind body on back swing. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T79.8, 77.4-79.2 mph. Running and sinking action. T1951, 1812 average rpm.
CB: 63.1-67.2 mph. 1/7 shape. Good feel. T1778, 1714 average rpm.
CH: 72.8-74.6 mph. Sinking action, with occasional fade. T1958, 1854 average rpm.
CUT: 75-76 mph. Late lateral action at times.

One of the last arms of the day was LHP David Leung (Hinsdale Central, 2025) and the lean, high-waisted 5-foot-11, 155-pound southpaw put together an impressive showing. Leung worked efficiently down the mound, maintaining rhythm and posture throughout. His fastball played from a loose clean arm at 79-80 mph with nearly 18 inches of vertical break on average and plenty of untapped velocity in the tank. Leung’s curveball showed flashes of above-average downer spin at 63-67 mph and his cutter was his best secondary pitch on this day, showing late horizontal action at 73-76 mph. His ceiling, especially should his body physically fill out, is arguably one of the highest we saw at this event.

CB: 62.9-66.8 mph. 1/7 shape. Able to locate for strikes. Depth at times. T1792, 1741 average rpm.
CH: 75.5-76.8 mph. Tumble, arm-side fade. A bit firm at times. T2027, 1944 average rpm.
CUT: 73-76 mph. Late action, short wrinkle.
