Building off an already impressive summer circuit was INF Jailen Veliz (Yorkville, 2026). Currently ranked No. 49 in the state for his class, Veliz is a highly athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pound middle-infielder that showed improvement offensively this weekend. Veliz is a right-handed hitter that was making loud contact all game long Saturday morning for Rhino. In his first at-bat, he nearly left the yard with a short, but powerful swing leading to a pull-side double off the fence. In his next at-bat he had a hard lineout to shortstop. Defensively, Veliz continues to be one of the smoother defenders at the position for his class. Veliz trusts his hands defensively and has a quick transfer that allows him to be on-time with his throws across the diamond. High-motor athlete.

Played flawless in the field, flashing his soft hands, and strong throwing arm. Has an athletic body, and showed above-average speed stealing a base on Monday.
