Uncommitted. Strong, athletic well-proportioned athlete that’s tacked on notable strength over the last six months. Started at shortstop and hit in the three-hole for the Tigers in this look. Easy bat speed and balance at the plate, put together highly competitive at-bats against a low-90s arm with a real breaking ball, too. Continues to show his improvements defensively. Free mover on the infield, comfortable on the move and understands how to slow the game down. Arm plays free and easy across the infield, able to make all throws from either side at shortstop. Helped turn two double plays that ultimately proved pivotal in the Tigers’ win. One of the top juniors still on the market in Illinois.

Uncommitted, sits at No. 47 overall in the Illinois’ 2025 rankings. Athletic, well-proportioned 6-foot, 185-pound frame with strength throughout. Started at shortstop and hit in the three-hole for the Tigers. Impressed defensively on the infield, made a handful of difficult plays look routine. Ranged into the 6.5 hole for a backhand, back-foot plant twice and threw the runner out on both occasions. Easy and athletic on the move, comfortable working to his glove side with above-average range. Charged a slow chopper over the mound, picked it, and threw a would-be runner out at first base quickly. Has the arm strength to stick on the left side of the infield and knows how to use it - will reach back and fire when needed, but tends to have a quick, accurate release that plays easy across the diamond. Didn’t have a hit in this look but did get off a few athletic swings with easy bat speed from the right side. A name-to-know junior that’s still on the market.
3/16/24
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 53 in the Illinois’ 2025 class. 6-foot, 183-pound, athletic, strong, right-handed hitter started at shortstop and hit in the three-hole. Took quality swings throughout the course of the weekend but put together arguably his best showing in the final game. Finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Jumped all over the first pitch he saw in his first at-bat and hit a loud line-drive to left field. Grounded out to shortstop and then singled to center field and scored the game-tying run in his final at-bat. Also, doubled hard to left-center on Friday night against Joliet Catholic. Defensively, played a steady shortstop all weekend long. Hands play soft and his arm is plenty strong (T90 in the past). Comfortable on the move, especially to his glove side with the ability to maintain body control. On the rise junior to follow moving forward.

One of the day’s biggest winners was INF Lucas Krebs (Edwardsville, 2025), who’s tacked on more strength and physicality to a 6-foot, 185-pound frame this winter. Krebs ran better than we’ve seen in the past (6.90), jumped 32.2” in the vertical, and had one of the day’s higher RSI jump scores (2.87) as well. He showed more bat speed and bat strength at the plate, elevating barreled line drives gap-to-gap throughout his round. Krebs averaged 89.3 mph per barrel, peaking at 96 mph, and his furthest ball traveled 346 feet - all of these marks being personal bests from Krebs at our events. He covers ground on the infield in rhythm, trusts his hands, and has a live arm (T90 mph) that consistently plays with carry across the diamond. Krebs is one of the top uncommitted position players in the Illinois’ 2025 class.

INF Lucas Krebs (Edwardsville, 2025) impressed during the Illinois State Games workout day. Krebs barreled balls in the upper-80s during his round of BP with his hardest hit ball being recorded at 93.8 mph. While still developing consistency from the right side, Krebs owns noticeable bat speed, and he’s a fast, athletic mover out of his load. Perhaps the most impressive trait he showed at the event was his defense; sure-handed with fluid actions, Krebs paired that with a strong arm that produced an 88 mph ball across the diamond. We’ve also seen him play an adequate left field at times, starting there for the state champion Edwardsville Tigers this spring. He also ran a 7.12 60-yard dash, slightly quicker than his last recorded time in February. Krebs is an upside athlete in the 2025 class with college bloodlines to pair.

Quick, compact, high 3/4 slot with carry. Defense: Sure-handed actions, efficient mover, clean transfer. Run: 7.12 runner in the 60.

Athletic 6-foot, 174-pound well-proportioned frame, really looks the part. Started in left field for the Tigers, hit in the nine-hole. Quiet at the plate, balanced and poised, hands tuck into back shoulder at load, strides short. Loose athletic bat with hand speed, barrel enters the zone on a level path and stays on plane. Top spun a single to left field in his first at-bat, worked a deep, competitive count in his second before driving a ball to center field for a sacrifice fly. Showed plus arm strength from the outfield in pregame warmups, creating natural backspin and carry on the baseball with life through his target. A high follow prospect with upside in all facets in the Illinois’ sophomore class.

RHP Lucas Krebs (Edwardsville, 2025; IL) and RHP Eli Skidmore (Francis Howell, 2025) both flashed plenty of intrigue on the mound during their 'pens. Krebs recorded the second-hardest fastball amongst 2025 prospects in attendance, touching 85 mph on his hardest bullet, while Skidmore filled up the zone with all three of his pitches, including an 83 mph best with his fastball.

Defense: Clean footwork, loose actions, flashed feel on the infield. Run: 7.47 runner in the 60.
