Body: 6-foot-2, 195-pounds. Highly-athletic, physical, strong frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, minimal loading action, short stride and stays balanced through contact. Fast bat, occasional quick-twitch, short, uphill path and works the middle of the field.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. Short arm action, over-the-top slot.
Defense: 2.32-2.40 pop times. Receptive hands, strong wrists, fluid out of the crouch and transfer works with rhythm.
Run: 7.37 runner in the 60. Above-average runner for size and position.


Nick Hemken stood out at the plate and behind the dish during NPI which included a bomb over the LF wall. Hemken’s moonshot left the bat with an exit velocity of 92 mph and traveled 350’ before landing well beyond the LF fence. Defensively, he showed an above average arm and moved well in his 6-foot-2, 200 pound frame.

2/10/19 - 6-foot-2, 195-pound catcher, lean strong frame. Right-handed hitter, tall balanced stance, arm bar load and short stride, static and quiet pre pitch. Path works slightly uphill, casted at times, 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. 2.19-2.26 pop times, footwork is fluid out of the crouch. Arm played 70 mph, over the top slot. 7.51 runner in the 60.

2.18.18 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound, athletically built, catcher with well-proportioned strength. At the plate, right-handed hitter, balanced setup, short leg-lift stride. Long, uphill bat path, flashes quick twitch, 83 mph exit velocity from a tee. Behind the plate has a big arm for his age; throws carry and topped at 82 mph from the crouch. Pop times ranged between 2.00-2.14. Ran a 7.67 60.

10.22.17 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound two-way player, athletic frame with lean strength. Plus arm strength for age, short over the top arm action, carried well, 77 mph out of the crouch. Exchange is quick and clean, 2.05-2.18 pop times. Right-handed hitter, tall setup, short stride. Path works uphill, lifting swing. 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.28 runner in the 60. On the mound arm action is quick and short, high ¾ slot. Fastball topped at 82 mph, sat 80-81 mph. Slider is 56-60 mph. Changeup is straight, 65-69 mph.

9.24.17 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound, physically advanced, athletically built, two-way prospect. Worked out as a catcher, advanced arm strength from the crouch, 78 mph. Arm works short and quick from an over-the-top slot. Accurate throws, stay true and carry. Quick, clean exchange, maintains body control. Pop times ranged between 2.00-2.12. Offensively, tall setup, pre-pitch load and maintains balance through contact. Quick twitch in swing, present bat speed, long bat path, occasional late trigger. 82 mph exit velocity from a tee. 7.27 runner in the 60, laser-timed. On the mound, right-handed pitcher, tall and fall delivery, stays on-line. Whippy, fast arm action from an over-the-top slot. Fastball flashed occasional cut, 78-81 mph. Slider has 10/4 shape, more 12/6 out of the stretch, thrown with fastball arm speed, conviction, 61-64 mph. Changeup, sat 67-68 mph.
