4/1/17 - Mihlbauer looked sharp over the weekend, and looks as though he’s cleaned up his mechanics since the Super 60. Staying taller and more online, Mihlabuer was an easy 86-88 mph from a ¾ slot. Flashing a swing and miss breaking ball at 71-74 mph that he was able to back foot right-handed hitters with.
2017 Super 60 - Texas Christian recruit. 6-foot-1, 182-pound left-handed pitcher, average frame with room for continued physical development. Works from a lower-3/4 slot, loose, athletic arm with deep plunge and wrap on backside. Small sidestep delivery, slight crouch, drop-and-drive, lands closed, crossfire action. Fastball sat 86-88 with significant arm-side run, erratic around the zone. Three-pitch feel, throws a firm changeup at 84-85, fastball arm speed with some cut and sink action. Commands breaking ball well down in zone, 71-72 mph, sweeping action with occasional depth.
3/13/16 - Texas Christian commit. 6-foot-1, 182-pound left-handed pitcher, loose live frame, projectable build, loose athlete. Tall and fall delivery, easy clean delivery, good balance, repeats well, squared landing, works on line with level shoulders. Arm action is loose and live, ¾ slot, whippy easy arm, projects well. Fastball has arm side run, controls the strike zone, showed feel, tough angle for hitters, sat 88-90 mph. Curveball has sweeping action, slurve type, improved feel and conviction, 69-72 mph, showed feel for the zone. Changeup has excellent feel, sinking action, fastball arm speed, 82-84 mph, plus type pitch. 2017 draft follow.
5/31/15 - Verbally committed to Texas Christian University.
3/15/15- 5-foot-11, 155-pound, left-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a ¾ arm angle with a long, loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with easy effort. Smooth rhythm with a square landing and athletic finish. Threw fastball for strikes with run at 87-88 topping out at 89 mph. Easy life on fastball. Slowed arm on curveball that showed 2-8 shapeat 67-70 mph. Threw changeup for strikes down in the zone. Changeup showed occasional sink at 76-79 mph. High level prospect with a big time fastball from the left side.
10/25/14 - Lean athletic frame, highly projectable, 5-foot-11, 150-pound two-way player. Projects well on the mound, delivery is athletic and fluid, tall and fall, highly balanced, repeats well. Closed landing, can get more out of lower half. Arm action is loose and quick, ¾ slot, slight crossfire. Fastball has easy late life to it, arm side run, sits 81-83 mph with good control. Curveball has sweeping action, plays on 2/8 plane, spins it well, late sharp action, 68-71 mph. Changeup is hard, power change at 76-80 mph. Left-handed hitter, tall open stance, smooth loading action back, short stride, chokes up on bat. Loose hands with bat speed, line drive gap to gap hitter, athletic in the box. 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses quick fluid footwork in the outfield, athletic defender, takes good routes. Hands play soft, arm works cleanly with carry, 87 mph arm strength from the outfield.
2/9/14 - Lanky athlete, 5-foot-7, 130-pounds, long limbs, left handed two-way prospect. Defensively showed natural outfield actions, feet work well, plays through the baseball, quick clean exchange. Arm plays well, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, highly accurate and produces carry at 84 mph. Advanced arm strength for age. Offensively hits from the left side, open stance, short stride, good balance through contact. Loose hands, low effort, simple approach, hands work well. Above average bat speed for his age, 75 mph exit velocity from the tee, short path, fluid rhythm. On the mound delivery works fluidly, stays on line and works towards his target, athletic finish. Works with little effort, easy arm action, projects well, loose arm action, high3/4 slot. Fastball has significant run for his age, showed control of the zone, 77-78 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 65-67 mph, occasional sharp bite. Changeup has feel, well above average fading action, throws with arm speed, 70-72 mph.
