The 2019 Holiday Showcase took place on December 28th at Keystone State Baseball Academy giving our staff an final look at 30 prospects from threes states before the curtain closes on 2019. Today we continue a series of articles analyzing the prospects in attendance with a look at those players that participated from the Class of 2022.

Class of 2022

RJ Emrich, Berks Catholic HS, C
5-foot-9, 205-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a toe tap stride. Displayed balance throughout with a direct swing path and a feel for the barrel. Registered an above average bat exit velocity of 89 mph and ran an 8.50 60-yard dash. Showcased sound receiving skills with accurate 70 mph arm strength out of the crouch defensively with pop times of 2.21-2.29.

Jesse Jaconski, Plymouth Whitemarsh HS, 3B
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Hands work well through contact and a strong lower half creates consistent back spin. Registered an 85 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Showcased active feet and a confident glove hand defensively with solid carry on throws of 79 mph across the diamond. Athletic, broad shouldered frame has room to carry additional weight and strength moving forward.

Colin Kuczborski, La Salle HS, 1B
6-foot, 178-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg hang stride. Showed above average intent while staying behind the baseball and routinely creates backspin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Moves well around the bag at first base and showcased accurate 68 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Tyler Mack, Seneca Valley HS, OF
5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect has an athletic frame with plenty of quick twitch actions. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a quick, leg-lift stride. Displayed a direct swing path with a line drive approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Plays through the baseball routinely and showcased developing 74 mph arm strength from the outfield.

Brayden McClain, Downingtown East HS, OF
Athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect with showcased solid all-around skills. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a short, lift-and-replace stride to begin. Showed a short, direct swing with a line drive approach and a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Displayed fluid defensive actions while playing through the baseball routinely. Developing 78 mph arm strength should improve in time.

Maika Niu, Trinity HS, OF/SS
5-foot-10, 160-pound switch-hitter displayed similar swing actions from both sides of the plate. Starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed balance throughout with a line drive approach and average intent. Registered a bat exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Impressed with athletic defensive actions in the outfield and middle infield registering 83 mph arm strength to home plate and 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Showcased active feet and a soft glove hand while making plays on the move in the infield. Also showed the ability to make throws from multiple arm slots.

Justin Nole, Avon Grove HS, 3B
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased balance throughout with a gap-to-gap approach. Registered a bat exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Displayed confidence in his glove hand and solid feet defensively with accurate 77 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Ethan Pfeffer, Trinity HS, 3B/RHP
5-foot-9, 170-pound left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Displayed balance throughout with a gap-to-gap approach. Barreled the baseball routinely in one of the better rounds of batting practice on the day. Registered a bat exit velocity of 77 mph and ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Showcased capable glove work around the bag at first base and accurate 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Righty worked solely out of the stretch off the mound sitting 73-75 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Two-seam fastball at 73-74 showed some sinking action. Also commanded a slider with short break at 67-69 and a changeup with good sell at 64-66.

Nick Sulpizio, Bishop Eustace Prep (NJ), SS/RHP
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly closed stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a short, line drive oriented swing path. Registered a bat exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 7.64 60-yard dash. Flashed easy 79 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively and sat 79-81 off the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot. Also commanded a curveball at 67-69 with occasional tight 11/5 rotation and a changeup at 70-72 with good arm speed.
