at Del Campo HS - USF commit; started on the mound, had a nice day though not quite as effective as his counterpart Jacobson. FB was 84-86 (T87) for the most part, with flashes of plus movement and late life. Utilized CB in the 71-76 mph range, ability to use for strikes. Outstanding athlete on the mound, also team's #2 hitter, went 1-3 with a couple Ks when he got a bit aggressive vs the talented opposing LHP.

Norcal ProCase

Body: Medium, athletic, toned, live body. Can add good weight without sacrificing dynamic movement.

Hit:  Flashes plus bat speed with excellent plate coverage. Shows potential to spray the ball with high frequency to all fields, indicating a high batting average in the future. Athleticism leaves lots of room for growth, and with Blast metrics where they are currently, his offensive output on all fronts is trending up.

Power:  Average currently, but there are indications that the power tool will develop as he ages and matures. In the meantime we will see gap-to-gap power with high doubles totals.

Field: Above average. Sound defensive actions and mechanics. Demonstrates quick, smooth double-play transfers from either middle infield position and sets feet when needed.

Arm:  Carry tool. Above average arm tool for middle infielders.  Proper arm action. Velocity clocked at 91MPH from shortstop. Ideal for any INF/OF position.

Run:  Carry tool. 6.69 60-yard.  Lead-off/top of lineup type speed with powerful, compact acceleration. Plus baserunner with aptitude and  first step quickness. Can steal a base any time. Electric, instinctive, disruptive. Big 1st to 3rd speed.

Summary - Comp: David Fletcher (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) - A pure athlete with quick twitch qualities, Delic has tools, period. His athleticism is the upside on all his projected tools suggesting there is much more in the tank. Has the body control to stay in the middle-infield. Offensive and defensive polish will come with age and maturity if he continues on his current trajectory.  From an analytics prospective we can assume all of his metrics will get better with age and physical strength, especially his rotational/power metrics, which sit at MiLB averages currently, still pretty darn good for a high school senior. The development of his hit tool will determine his overall impact potential.

6/02/19

BAWS 2019 - Athletic and strong medium frame; twitchy actions and bounce in his step running extremely well (6.75 60yd). I’ve seen Delic a fair amount this season and he seems to be improving his skills as he plays more. Showed an attacking attitude to the baseball in all three aspects of his game. Defensively showed loose twitchy hips and bouncy feet able to react and respond; soft glove, strong angles and find rhythm through the baseball. Arm is quick, compact and able to stick at SS with all angles and the strength for tough plays; future above average arm (88 MPH). During games played with strong range making plays and letting his tools show up; you can see the game coming easier to him. The bat is very quick and works on a slight upward path (88 EV); shows strength through contact able to drive the gaps with carry. Swang through some hittable pitches during games, but also picked up a couple hits from hard contacts to the middle of the field. When he’s on base he’s a nightmare for defenses taking bases at will; was on 2nd and took home on a 6-4-3 double play. Pitched with compact arm showing strength with FB angle to both sides of the plate (84-85 MPH); love his competitive attitude on mound attacking the zone. CB 71-75 has late downer actions with quick break; showed feel for the pitch and wanted batters swinging through the pitch. Still has some growth in the tools and type of middle of the field player that can impact the baseball game.

5/27/19

NCA Underclass ID - Medium, strong frame with twitchy actions and current muscle throughout. Hair on fire runner with very quick feet and solid stride length (6.90 60 yd). Tall stance, slightly turned front side as he keeps very high hands and elbows. Tucks front knee with slight turn as hands show slight movement back starting to turn barrel. Barrel is explosive through the zone with quick twitch actions working on slight upwards path making lots of hard contact out in front of the plate. Uses his body well with loose hips able to drive through the baseball; peppered both gaps with long carry and flashes of more pop (89 EV). Very quick feet with body control to stick at the position and make all the plays needed. Glove has rhythm being soft with press through the ball even when on the move. Arm is quick and compact with plenty of strength to stick on the left side of the diamond (86 MPH). Obviously enjoys playing the game, but wants to compete and be the best he can. Bright future with still room for tools and skills to continue to improve.

4/17/19

Fresno Easter Classic - Uncommitted from Consumnes Oaks showed well again defensively making plays with strong control of the glove hand and range to both sides of him; arm definitely above average and consistently on the bag. Came in to pitch final 2 innings with FB 83-85 T86 MPH, CB 73-76 MPH; more of a thrower showing his arm strength. Approach at the plate was better in this game keeping shoulder locked driving a FB to RCF for a triple getting in standing. Speed is a big part of his game; got jammed on a pitch in 1st AB but beat it out (4.28 H-1st) before stealing 2nd base without a throw. / vs Lemoore at FEC, saw more pull approach that has been part of each viewing this spring, makes good barrel contact, hard L7 in this game, ran 4.60 down line on E6, good athlete projects well as offensive 2nd baseman

4/16/19

Fresno Easter Classic - Medium frame with athletic actions showed well on defense making plays to each side and moving in time through the ball. Flashed an above-average arm with easy release keeping it on the bag while on the move. Very quick feet with jailbreak running actions on drag bunt for Sacrifice (4.00 H-1st) and when stealing 2nd base. Bat showed some length when focusing heavily to pullside with swing, but strong wrists and good rhythm and timing in swing.

3/18/19

Uncommitted as of this viewing vs Franklin HS; compactly built 5-foot-10 170-pounds with some present day strength. Started the game at SS, offensively we've see him bang the ball around previously yet in this one he was really heavy pull-conscious and around the ball in most of his plate appearances (6-3, 5-3, F9+, 6-3). The bat speed and aggressive nature are absolutely present and he can compete vs quality stuff, but the approach will have to be tightened up as it was particularly exposed vs a crafty LHP like Grant Stevens who has the ability to locate the fastball along with a tight sharp curveball. There was ONE plate appearance when Delic let the ball travel further and he shot a hard out to the right fielder on a fastball away in a 2-strike count. Likes to hunt early in the count. It was good to see him make that adjustment within the game. He's got some speed and gets down the line around 4.42 give or take a little depending how he gets out of the box. On mound was pretty solid in terms of stuff and make-up. Overhand slot, short quick arm action, works quick, simple delivery, fastball was 84-87 mph and showed ability to go get that higher velo. Short tight breaking ball that has a chance to get soft contact and some occasional strikeouts. Showed feel for that pitch. Definitely aggressive and certainly met the level of competition. Good all-around player, one of the better all-around talents in the area in the 2021 class.

10/29/18

Viewing at fall tournament - Medium frame with lean strength throughout; twitchy player showing fluidity in hips and legs. Beginning to establish himself as a top 2021 player in the region. Balanced stance with tight hands and control of body during knee tuck with load; very quick bat that showed strength including ability for pullside pop (86 exit). In game barreled up multiple pitches showing ability to drive ball deep into gaps. Athletic runner who gets to full speed very quickly (7.02 60yd) and uses same speed in game for SBs, putting pressure on Defense and scoring from 1st. Defensively showed natural SS instincts and actions with strong footwork and ability to make plays with ease to both sides. Very strong arm (86 across INF) and shows timing with ability to make throws from different angles. On mound used loose, long arm to get to ¾ release with a high front knee and slight lean back over the rubber; mainly arm on the mound with little leg usage. FB 81-83 with intent and small arm side actions. CB 70-73 11/6 actions showing short depth with bite. SLD 67-68 from drop down angle with cross-plate sweep. Future is on field with defense and ability to swing the bat.

8/25/18

PBR N CA Underclass Games -  5-foot-9, 175-pounds, strong young player with stout build on compact body type. Strength comes out in quite a few ways and he’s a player to watch in Northern California in the 2021 class. Bat talent stood out quite clearly. Batting practice round displayed good things, including confidence in the box and a hitterish feel. Smooth easy load, showed some present day power and ability to drive the ball to the pull-side. Didn’t find as much success in the games as he saw some good offspeed pitches, but two at-bats don’t take away from his hitting talent. Defensively his arm action is long-ish and the ball came out of his hand very well with above average arm strength. In regard to his defensive tools and body type, he really profiles well as a catcher, though he did not catch, that is merely an observation/opinion/projection, where his hitting ability would be a strong asset to the catching profile.
