Impressed at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, double, one RBI and one run scored. In his first at-bat of the game, took a curveball on the outer half down the left field line for a double, followed with a no-doubt home run over the right-center field wall for a solo shot, and stepped to the plate in his next at-bat and barreled a ball to right field, but the outfielder made a good diving play to save the hit. Took good swings throughout the day, stayed direct and on-plane from the left side of the plate. Defensively, showed off his arm on a play at home, making a strong throw to the plate on a line for a near-out on a sacrifice fly. DelFavero then got the start in the third place game for the 3A class on Saturday morning and continued his 2024 dominance on the hill. DelFavero tossed a complete-game shutout (eight innings), allowing just one hit, no walks, and punching out five to move his final record on the mound to a perfect 14-0 on the year. The southpaw pitches with a bulldog-mentality on the mound, going right at hitters (73% strikes) with his best stuff in the zone, unafraid to pitch to contact and trust his defense. His fastball sat in the low-80’s, topping out at 84 mph, while going to a big-breaking curveball for consistent swing and miss as his secondary.

Started on the mound for the Redskins - allowed two runs in the first inning, but held the Panthers offense at bay the rest of the way, notching nine strikeouts, walking one, allowing two runs and five hits. DelFavero’s compete factor and ability to attack the zone with both his fastball and curveball stood out. Fastball sat 81-84 mph with arm-side run at times, and mixed in a curveball with 1/7 shape at 69-72 mph. Tallied one hit, one RBI and two walks at the plate.

Above-average defender in the outfield, quick first step and covers ground easily, made a tough over the shoulder play against the wall as he was adjusting with the wind. Scrappy two-way prospect that continues to show well in front of our staff.

Standing at a strong, 5-foot-10, 180-pounds, round shoulders with strength in the lower-half. He plays the game hard, competes at the plate, hustles out of the box, and attacks the zone on the mound. A left-handed hitter, he has a simple swing that’s short and direct to the ball with above-average bat speed. Covers the plate well with above-average bat-to-ball, uses the whole field.
