MIF Luca Agne (Plainfield North) was another current freshman that showed well at the event. Agne’s defense stood out with his natural ability up the middle, showing soft hands, active feet, and a rhythmic play style that produced clean actions throughout his defensive workout. A switch-hitter, Agne swung it more naturally from the left side demonstrating twitchy hands that worked short to the ball with some quickness (23.5 mph max hand speed).
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-6, 140-pounds.
Hit: SH. Balanced setup, bat wraps at load, high leg-kick trigger. Some hand twitch, short path, works uphill to contact. 70.5 mph bat speed with 20 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 76 mph. 286’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 79 mph. Short arm path, over-the-top slot.
Defense: Active feet play around the baseball and in rhythm, low to the ground. Soft hands that work out front of body, quick and clean transfer. Natural actions on double play feed, advanced comfort on the move for age.
Run: 7.34 runner in the 60
MIF Luca Agne (Plainfield North, 2027) gave a strong look at the dish over the weekend. Compact frame at 5-foot-4, 150-pounds, but don’t let that fool you as he is an extremely scrappy top-of-the-order type bat. The left-hander has hitter tendencies in the box with aggressive takes and quality at-bats. Loose and quick hands allow him to get the barrel to the ball consistently with a line-drive approach.
