Cape Cod- High-profile recruit for Mississippi State but will transfer to Tulane for his second season after seeing limited action for the national champs this past spring. Big and strong at 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, Carmouche worked at 90-92 this summer and missed bats with a big league changeup, which is his calling card. He needs to work on his breaking ball, a slurvish slider, but it's coming along. He also is something of a dart thrower who could get more out of his stuff with a mechanical adjustment. Carmouche holds runners well and has a great move to first base.
