Name: Mark DiLuia

Graduating Class: 2017

Position: RHP

School: Marian Catholic

Height: 6-3

Weight: 175

Rank:
State: 20

The Skinny:
Few players in the state have seen a more meteoric rise this summer than DiLuia. The athletic 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-hander has proven himself to be a big-game pitcher with an advanced three-pitch mix that includes an 85-88 mph fastball and a tight 70-74 mph slider. DiLuia began his ascent in the spring, serving as Marian Catholic’s go-to pitcher down the stretch. Extraordinarily composed for his age, DiLuia is a consistent strike-thrower who gets outs.

Scouting Report:
6-foot-2, 175-pound, right-handed pitcher with a lanky, thin frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm slot with a short, quick, clean arm action. Smooth, online delivery with good balance throughout. Body is under control with minimal effort. Downhill shoulders at balance point, rocks shoulders uphill as he drives to the plate. Fastball sat 82-85 topping out at 86 mph. Fastball flashed sink at 82-83 mph. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with depth at 70-72 mph. Projects for more velo as he begins to fill out. (Report from early spring outing).
