Missouri Underclass Games: 2021 Pitchers

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the Missouri Underclass Games at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on June 12.  Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the 2021 pitchers from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

The 2021 pitchers included four left-handed pitchers and four right handed pitchers.  Two had a max fastball velo at 84 mph.

Here is a break down of the 2021 pitchers from the Missouri Underclass Games.

2021 Pitchers

Sam Bryan RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2021

Bryan is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Bryan comes from a high three quarters arm slot, drop and drive type delivery, increased tempo after leg lift works in line down the mound, fastball at 82-84 mph, works to both sides of the plate, late two-seam action, breaking ball at 68-71 mph, 11-to-5 action, has command of both pitches, repeats release point, throws with regular effort.

Cylis Cox LHP / 1B / Staunton, IL / 2021

Cox is a strong 6-foot 195-pound left-handed pitcher in Illinois’ 2021 class. Cox has a high three quarter arm slot, high leg lift, controlled temp with in line direction, throws with regular effort and loose arm action, fastball at 82-84 mph, some with arm side run, breaking ball has 2-to-8 shape, 72-74 mph, works down in the zone, sharp action, change up at 77-78 throws with near fastball arm speed, throws for a strike, simple and repeatable.

Matthew Haley SS / RHP / Rockwood Summit , MO / 2021

Haley is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Haley throws with regular effort, smooth tempo, high three quarters arms slot, athletic delivery, throws in a downhill plane, fastball at 79-80 mph, breaking ball at 68-70 mph, 11-to-5 shape, late brake, starts on same plane as fastball, swing and miss potential, projection in build and arm action to go along with already good command

Michael Infranca LHP / 1B / Blue Springs , MO / 2021

Infranca is a 5-foot-9 165-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Infranca comes from a high three quarters arm slot, increased tempo as he works in line down the mound, smooth leg lift, throws against front side and lands in athletic position, fastball at 73-76 mph, occasional arm side run, breaking ball at 64-67 mph, 2-to-8 shape, some with sharp bite, will work on the hand of a right-handed hitter with occasional back door pitch, change up at 69-70 mph, arm side sink, showed feel for all pitches. 

Austin Jerger OF / LHP / Northwest House Springs, MO / 2021

Jerger is a 6-foot- 178-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Jerger worked his fastball at 74-77 mph, slight arm side run, breaking ball at 64-66 mph, occasionally sharp 1-to-7 shape, high three quarters arm slot, will work glove side, smooth acceleration tempo with in line direction, long take away from glove, strong and athletic build. 

Jack Minkler OF / RHP / Ladue , MO / 2021

Minkler is a 6-foot 156-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Minkler works from a high three quarters arm slot, slinging-type arm action, throws with regular effort, commands two pitches for strikes, fastball at 76-78 mph, late two seam action, breaking ball at 10-to-5 shape, late and sharp, down in the zone, long and lean build with high upside.

Brady Rhoden LHP / 1B / Lees Summit West , MO / 2021

Rhoden is a strong 6-foot2 190-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, comes from an over the top arm slot, slightly choppy tempo adding to deception in delivery, in line stride, throw with regular effort, hides ball until release, works to both sides of the plate, fastball at 71-74 mph, slight arm side sink, breaking ball has 2-to-8 shape, changes planes late, 55-57 mph, change up at 65-69 mph, slight sink, throws with near fastball arm speed.

Taylor Warren SS / RHP / Blue Springs , MO / 2021

Warren is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Warren has an quick tempo in delivery, loose arm action with athletic delivery, slight tuck at balance point, throw with an over the top arm slot, short takeaway, fastball at 68-71 mph, breaking ball with 12-to-6 action at 60-61 mph, gradual and late action.
