Pennsylvania Director of Scouting
On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Pennsylvania will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Pennsylvania at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.
Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Scouting Report: Projectable frame (6-foot-4, 190-pounds) with long limbs. Pitched out of an over-the-top slot from an athletic delivery with some head snap. Fastball at 85-87 showed late action at the front of the plate. Slow, big-breaking curveball with 11/5 action at 62-64 serves as a borderline eephus pitch given its nearly 25-mph difference from his fastball. Four-pitch mix also included a slider at 68-69 and straight change-up at 74-76.

Knarr showed an occasional changeup at 72-74 but relied heavily on a sharp breaking 1/7 curveball that has solid down action at 69-71. Knarr starts with a simple side rocker step and repeats his delivery routinely with a high 3/4 arm slot.

Most Recent Showcase/In-Game Performance:
Date: 6/17/15
Scouting Report: Medium frame (6-foot-1, 195-pounds) with room to add additional strength. Pitched from an over-the-top slot with abbreviated arm action and some front arm swim. Fastball sat 80-82 and touched 84. Curveball at 68-69 had a tendency to back up on him this day, but had solid 1/7 break when it did what he wanted. Also utilized a change-up at 71-72 with some fade. Left-handed hitter starts from an open stance, loads hands in close to his body, and strides to square. Swing is athletic and he showed a definite feel for the barrel in BP, while he cuts off his finish at times. Smoked an opposite field single off an 87-mph fastball in his first at-bat, then hooked over a number of ground balls against lower velocity as the event wore on. Moved well defensively and showcased 83-mph arm strength in workout the day after topping at 84-mph on the mound.
Name: Zach Kokoska
Position: LHP/OF
Class: 2017
State Ranking: 12
Height/Weight: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds
High School: Greater Latrobe
Summer Team(s): US Elite
Pitching Rotation: Game #1 (8/1) - Innings 1-3
Most Recent Showcase/In-Game Performance:
Date: 6/30/15
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 185-pound two-way prospect sat 83-85 while topping at 87 mph multiple times from a 3/4 arm slot with hard cut to his fastball. Displayed an up-tempo athletic delivery with a quick arm (91 mph from the outfield). 77 mph slider showed tight, late break although command was an issue at times. Kokoska also showcased an 80 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed. Projectable frame and above average athleticism projects for additional velocity gains moving forward. Left-handed hitter was top two-way prospect in attendance. Starts from a square stance and initiates swing with a leg lift stride. Fluid, balanced swing with a feel for the barrel leads to a 91 mph bat exit velocity. Showcased athletic actions defensively with a 6.87 60-yard dash and a 91 mph arm with above average straight line carry.
