+ RHP Wyatt Mammen (Lincoln, 2024) displayed one of the louder fastballs of the event. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound PBR Future Games alum was up to 89.8 mph on his firmest bullet, pitching at 87-89 mph, to go along with an upper-70s slider and low-80s changeup.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-3, 220-pounds.
Delivery: Controlled tempo, high leg kick into drop and drive lower half, on-line to the plate.
Arm Action: RH. Full arm action into a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T90, 87-89 mph. Thrown downhill with backspin, carry through the zone. T2177, 1950 average rpm.
SL: 76-79 mph. Gradual break, tight sweeping movement. T2351, 2177 average rpm.
CH: 80-82 mph. Thrown with intent, fading action to the armside. T1731, 1576 average rpm.
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 18 in the Illinois’ 2024 class. 6-foot-3, 220-pounds, strong, durable build. Showed poise on the mound. Simple, repeatable delivery, high leg-lift coil into a drop and drive delivery, worked in-line. Arm action has length, comes from a high slot. Struck out four in five innings of work. Fastball sat 85-86 mph, T88 mph with carry through the zone, flashed arm-side run. Breaking ball sat 75-76 mph, 10/4 shape with tight spin and came out of the same window as the fastball.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-3, 200-pounds. Tall, lean build.
Delivery: Athletic delivery. Slight drop and drive lower half into a long stride, remains in line with the plate while front foot lands slightly closed.
Arm Action: RH. Long draw out of the glove. Loose, whippy arm action. Works from a 3/4 slot.
FB: T89.9, 88.7-89.7 mph. Hard and heavy. T1974, 1823 average rpm.
CB: 68.9-72.3 mph. Decelerates. Slurve type action. T1805, 1676 average rpm.
CH: 72.0-75.3 mph. Fading action. Tends to get underneath. Flashed sinking action. Kills spin. T1444, 1329 average rpm.
Two of the top fastball offerings of the day belong to the big right arms of Luke Weber (Highland Park, 2024) and Wyatt Mammen (Lincoln, 2024). Both had two of the better fastball velocity ranges at the event, proving they were able to hold high-end velocity throughout their ‘pen. Weber sat 87-88 mph and Mammen brought a comfortable 88-90 fastball that felt hard and heavy. At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, it's easy to see Mammen growing and holding even more velocity down the road for long stretches.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds.
Delivery: Upright set from the middle of the rubber; simple side step to high knee balance point. Lead leg drops and strides to closed landing, shoulders are level.
Arm Action: RH. Long, clean arm circle to a 3/4 slot.
FB: T79, 76-78 mph. Straight four-seam type; low-spin pitch at an average rate of 1,403 rpm.
CB: 60-63 mph. 11/5 shape, gradual action; flashed some depth.
CH: 62-63 mph. Maintains arm action; produces run/fade.
