Andrew Coats, OF, Normal West (IL), 2022
Coats launched a three-run HR over the left-center field wall to break open the game in the night cap on Saturday. The right-handed hitting outfielder put together quality at-bats all game and was able to connect on a long shot in his last at-bat of the day.

Joe Jefferson, C, Normal West (IL), 2022
Strong, athletic build. The 5-foot-11 backstop showed the ability to make hard contact recording a single right back up the middle. Jefferson registered pop times of 2.19-2.26 during the night cap on Saturday.

Evan Kochel, RHP/3B, Normal University, (IL), 2022
Started on the mound for BNBA Gold. 6-foot-1, 240-pound right-handed pitcher. Han advanced, strong frame for his age. Lean, athletic build. 5-foot-8, 145 pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Played CF for the Wolfpack Thursday morning. Went 2-for-3 on the day with two singles. Jalen Gellings, SS, Campbellsport (WI), 2022
5-foot-8, 155-pound athletic/sturdy frame, durable lower half, right/right prospect. Sets up balanced/tall, open stance, smooth load back into simple toe-tap stride even. Path is short and level, athletic and loose hands help generate bat speed, above-average barrel feel. Wendell Waukau Jr., 1B, Menominee Indian (WI), 2022
6-foot, 230 pound left handed hitting third baseman who batted fourth in the lineup for CBT on Friday against Slammers-Coyote. He went 2-for-2 with two singles and a walk. Waukau has an open set up with a toe tap stride which brings him to a closed position. Above average bat strength was present in his swing.

Central Illinois Outlaws

Kaiser Quick, RHP, N/A (IL), 2022
Right-handed pitcher. Came in the game in relief. Showcased long and loose arm action. Throws from a high ¾ window. Works in line, lands slightly closed. Fastball sat 74-76 mph, touching 77 mph a few times. Curveball at 65-68 mph with 10/4 shape and sweeping action. Showed feel for curveball, potential swing-and-miss pitch.

Nathan Cooley, C, Illinois Valley Central (IL), 2022
Our first look at the athletic/compact backstop who started on varsity this past spring. Hit in the five-spot for the Outlaws through the tournament, but mostly impressed with his glovework from behind the plate. He has advanced actions both as a blocker and in his catch-and-throw abilities. He has strong wrists that help him frame and receive pitches well and is a soft blocker who is able to direct balls back toward the plate. Did not get a clean pop time, but it’s evident that his short, over-the-top throws are quick down to second, and feature some carry. At the plate, tall/balanced setup, open stance, weight-shift load back, short stride lands open. Present bat speed, level path, some feel for the barrel.

GRB Rays Green

AJ Finco, C/3B/OF, Home School (WI), 2022
One of the bigger revelations of the weekend came on the right handed bat of AJ Finco. Solid stocky build, compact levers and body type with strength. Consistent middle of the field approach, short compact swing path produced some of the harder line drives of the weekend. Ball jumped off the bat with low effort. Intriguing right-handed hitter to follow in the class. He was 4-for-4 with a double and three singles, two RBIs, and a run scored on Friday, showcasing a gap-to-gap approach and innate feel for the barrel. Finished the tournament 7-for-14 with a double, four runs scored, three runs driven in, and a pair of walks.

Cal Fisher, SS, Deerfield (WI), 2023,

Aaron Jungers, LHP, Madison Memorial (WI), 2022
5-foot-10, 160-pound left-handed pitcher, lean longer frame, projects some. High pitchability left-hander, showed innate ability to control both sides of the plate with his fastball. Excellent mound presence and poise, low effort collected presence. Arm plays out of high ¾ slot, while front side tends to open slightly early, methodical approach. Fastball sat 72-74 mph , with arm side run, excellent feel, consistently misses barrels.

Addison Ostrenga, OF, Sun Prairie (WI), 2022
6-foot-4, 195-pound strong and projectable frame with long limbs. At the plate, starts in a balanced, slightly crouched stance. Short stride, hands fall into load, short and uphill path to the baseball. Pull side approach. Consistent hard contact. Finished 2-3 with a single, found the barrel for a double, and 2 RBI in a 9-1 victory. In the field, played RF. Made a diving catch on a ball hit to the right-center gap and showed accuracy and arm strength by doubling off the runner at 2nd base.

Luke Ross, LHP/1B, Waunakee (WI), 2022
Punched out seven batters in five dominant innings. Easy effort delivery. He featured a heavy fastball that sat 77-79 mph, and touched 81-82 mph a couple of times. Ross locates his fastball well down in the zone, too. He throws two distinctly different breaking balls, a slider and curve, in the same slot as his fastball which helps add some swing-and-miss to his arsenal. Curveball plays 12/6 with depth at 65 mph, while slider showed 2/8 shape thrown firmer at 70 mph. Final line: CG (5 IP), ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 7 K.

Kolton Schaller, INF, Mount Horeb (WI), 2022
6-foot-1, 152-pound lanky frame. Played 3B and batted second. At the dish, balanced setup, smooth load, loose hands that generate bat speed. Short and level path through the zone. Pull-side approach. Found barrels and hit the ball hard in both ABs. Finished 2-2 with a single, double, hit-by-pitch and 3 RBI in a 9-1 victory. Ran a 4.91 (turn) down the line.

Nick West, 1B, Verona (WI), 2022
The 6-foot-0 170lb switch hitter attacks the baseball with a relaxed, easy effort swing. Reached base safely on all three of his plate appearances. Flashed pull side power with an effortless swing from the left side. Drove a 2B to the right center gap that showed some carry. He finished the morning with 2 RBI and a stolen base as well.

GRB Rays Yellow

Jenkin Alexander, SS, Sun Prairie (WI), 2022
5-foot-9, 160-pound left-handed hitting middle infielder. Tall and balanced setup, short stride, quick hands that create present bat speed. Against slammers, went 2-3 with a single, a double, three runs driven in and a run scored. In the field, showed natural actions. Fluid footwork, clean exchange. Short arm action from an over-the-top slot, played accurate across the diamond.

Hit out of the leadoff spot for GRB Yellow against NEO Elite, went 1-for-3 with a single and two barrels. Silky smooth in the field. Soft hands, strong arm, made plays to both his front and back hand, strong body control.

Peyton Lee, RHP/OF, Edgerton (WI), 2022
Lee was dealing on the mound against an undefeated Slammers-Coyote club. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound righty has an athletic frame with long limbs. On the rubber, he has a tall and fall delivery with a tall balance point. Showcased long and loose arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Showed feel for his fastball, sitting at 78-80 mph, touching 82 mph. Also showed feel for both offspeed pitches. Curveball sat 68-71 with tight spin and an 11/5 shape, confidence to throw it at any point of the count. Changeup sat 71-72 mph with fading movement.

Wyatt Miles, RHP, D.C. Everest (WI), 2022
Miles got the start for GRB Yellow and offers plenty of upside in his long-levered 6-foot-2, 135-pound frame. Miles has a loose arm, feel for pitching and sat in the mid-70’s during his outing, routinely mixing in a breaking ball for strikes.

Cuyler Zukowski, RHP, Madison LaFollette (WI), 2022
Strong and muscular build, projectible frame. 5-foot-11, 165-pound RHP/OF. Started on the mound against NEO baseball on Saturday. Long/loose arm action, over-the-top slot. Lands slightly closed, throws across body, creates deception. Easy and clean delivery with rhythm. He has a lively fastball that touched 84 mph, sat between 81-83 mph with run/cut. Works with the kind of athleticism that should make him an enticing follow as he continues to mature. Hit out of the three-hole for GRB Yellow and walked twice.

Great Lakes Baseball Academy 15u

Zackary Goodwin, C/INF, Roseville (MN), 2022
Strong, athletic frame. 5-foot-9, 145 pound left-handed hitting catcher that caught the first of two games on Saturday afternoon for the Lumberjacks. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride with a slight leg kick. Swings a quick bat because of his quick hands, level path to the baseball, smooth throughout with not a lot of moving parts, confident at the plate. Went 4-for-5 at the plate on the day with four singles and a walk. Aggressive on the basepaths and is an above-average runner. Defensively, looked the part behind the plate. Recorded pop time of 2.13 both in-game and in warmups, would have thrown a runner out had it not been for a defensive miscue in game. Displayed natural defensive actions behind the plate, receives the ball well, bought his pitcher some strikes, adept blocker, showcased a strong arm behind the plate. Confident in himself, vocal leader on the field, has an advanced knowledge for what’s going on and how to command an infield. Goodwin also saw time at third base. He showed good range at the hot corner on multiple plays in the morning session. Also showed the ability to move both way laterally with good footwork. He showcased a strong arm with carry for accurate throws from deep in the hole.

Josh Kirchhoff, 1B/C, Concordia (MN), 2022
Showed an advanced approach at the plate, looking towards the middle of the field. He shot a fastball right back up the middle with power on a smooth swing. Kirchhoff also flashed a 2.12 pop from behind the plate.

Jackson Schaffer, OF, Hastings (MN), 2022
Athletic build. 5-foot-6, 150 pound right-handed hitting outfielder that appeared in the leadoff spot and the two-hole for the Lumberjacks. Balanced setup, short stride with a slight leg kick. Good pre-pitch rhythm, hands separate well, simple compact swing with not a lot of moving parts. Went 3-for-6 on Saturday afternoon with three singles and two stolen bases. Defensively, took a great read to a well-struck ball in left field to make a play that ended the inning. Made an appearance on the mound against Indiana Nitro 15U Gold. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball touched 73 mph and sat between 69-71 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape and played at 59-61 mph.

TJ Swidorski, MIF/RHP, East Ridge (MN), 2022
Right-handed pitcher. Started against STiKS Academy Red on Saturday afternoon for the Lumberjacks. Athletic, projectible frame that will fill out as he matures. Tossed four solid innings, surrendering three runs while punching out five and walking none. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot, square landing, works in line with his target, clean and easy delivery that he consistently repeated. Threw 68% of his pitches for strikes, filled up the zone, threw almost entirely in the bottom half of the zone. Commanded a fastball that touched 74 mph and sat between 71-73 mph that played down during the entire game. Showed feel for a 12/6 curveball that sat between 62-64. Had a solid performance despite some defensive miscues.

Hitters Navy

5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher who started on the mound against STiKS-Black on Thursday. Athletic build, throws from a high ¾ arm slot with arm action that is long and loose. Hayden Christiansen, C, Richmond-Burton (IL), 2022
Started his day hot with a double over the left fielders head and followed it up hosing a runner at second in the very next inning. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound RHH sports a short, compact path with rhythm through contact and a gap-to-gap approach as he lined the double to left and a single to right.  He finished 2-for-2 with a 2B, a BB, one RBI and a run scored. Also, 3-for-3 in caught stealing as he repeated 2.08-2.10 to second in between innings and in-game to second. Athletic actions with fluid footwork and a true ball to second with carry and accuracy; Called a solid game behind the dish.
https://twitter.com/PBRWisconsin/status/1142067146903756800

Luke Klekamp, RHP, Oak Creek (WI), 2022
Tilt and topple style with funk in his delivery, he sports a clean high ¾ slot with present arm speed. Sat his fastball at 77-79 mph, topping 81 mph with a breaker at 67-68 mph for Hitters Navy. The heater has easy run and sink to match the easy effort overall. The breaker has 10/4 shape with sweeping action and he used both throughout the game. Also flashed a changeup that faded with FB arm speed.

Keegan Knutson, 3B, Milton (WI), 2022
5-foot-10, 150-pound third baseman who batted second in the lineup for Hitters Navy on Thursday against STiKS-Black. Knutson had a hard hit double in the gap which resulted in an RBI. The right-handed hitter has a balanced setup with a quiet load. He has a short, quick path to the baseball and maintains good balance throughout his swing. Final line on Saturday was a combined 4-for-7 with a home run. Knutson plays the game at a different speed then his peers, uptempo and energetic, grinder type with leadership qualities that standout on the diamond.

Michael Lippe, OF, Whitefish Bay (WI), 2022
Louisville commit. Strong right-handed hitting outfielder. Lippe’s reputation as one of the country’s top athletes and bats precedes him. He produces a different sound off the bat. He tacked on another three barrels that went for singles today and is a plus runner with a strong, proportional build. His bat was one several standout on the weekend, gets easy exit velocity off the barrel, middle of the field approach..

Michael Mulhollon, LHP, Westosha Central (WI), 2022
Lean, highly projectable 6-foot-4 frame. The No. 22-ranked left-handed pitcher in our national 2022 rankings. Mulhollon has been on our radar for about a year now, and he continues to show that he's among the top pitching prospects in Wisconsin's 2022 class. He came in to close for Hitters in Day One action and sat 80-81 mph with a 64-65 mph breaking ball that he could drop in for a strike to righties, though mostly relied on his fastball. Mulhollon has a quick, loose, and easy arm, with a lean, loose build that allows for comfortable projection.

Willard Peterson, LHP, Evansville (WI), 2022
Large frame and build, 6-foot-2, 210-pound left-handed pitcher. Repeatable delivery, gets rotational at times and will finish to third base side. Arm is loose and easy, works out of high ¾ slot. Fastball showed natural cut action, played 77-79 mph. Flashes slurve type breaking ball at 65 mph. Follow left-handed arm in the class.

Will Vierling, C, Homestead (WI), 2022

Has a balanced setup with a smooth load and level path to the baseball. Has an overall fluid rhythm to his swing and stays balanced through contact. Vierling went 2-for-4 with 2 singles and an RBI. Vierling homered on Friday and slugged a deep triple to the right-center gap in Saturday’s action.

Mitchell Voit, CIF/RHP, Whitefish Bay (WI), 2022
Super athletic and strong 2022 finished with two singles, one to each side of the field, with a run scored and the walk-off RBI. Short stroke at the plate, level through the zone. Picked it well at first base, comfortable around the bag.

Hitters White

Josh DeGroot, 2B/SS, Union Grove (WI), 2022
5-foot-10, 137-pound right/right middle infield prospect with a lean, loose frame. Led Hitters White at The Rock with seven hits (7-for-12), including a pair of doubles, struck out just once. Balanced setup, simple and repeatable swings. Loose hands, level path, geared for opposite-field contact, barrel feel. A sound defender who plays well on the move with the actions to continue profiling as an up-the-middle defender.

Heath Venne, C, Muskego (WI), 2022
Venne had himself a nice day at the plate on Thursday. He lined a hard single the opposite way in game one and pulled a homer to straightaway left in game two. Venne has a loose barrel in the right-handed box and has all of the actions from behind the dish, including a strong arm and quick catch-and-throws down to second.

Illinois Indians

Bruno Pallan, RHP, Barrington (IL), 2022
Pallan went 5.2 innings and allowed just one hit and two walks while punching out 10 batters – his first six outs of the ballgame were via the strike out. He topped 80 mph in the first but the Kards clearly had trouble throughout touching his mostly upper-70s fastball with downhill tilt. He kept his opposition way off balance by dropping in his curve for strikes, burying it away to righties, too. That breaking ball lived in the 63-65 mph range, working off a 10/4 plane.

Mikey O’Conor, OF, Notre Dame Prep (IL), 2022
5-foot-8, 150-pound lanky/athletic right-handed-hitting outfielder. In the box, simple approach, balanced/relaxed setup. Advanced feel for balls and strikes, aggressive swings. Feel for the barrel is advanced, too, capable of driving the ball from foul pole to foul pole. Simple weight shift back load, short hands to the ball, loose/quick bat speed. Led off for the Indians all week and got off to a hot start, going 3-for-3 in the team’s first game on Thursday with three doubles.

Josh Outlaw, LHP, Maine West (IL), 2022
5-foot-11, 155-pound left-handed pitching prospect with lanky, loose levers and high projectability. Tough look, especially for left-handed hitters. High knee tucks into coiled balanced point, slight hip turn, shoulders closed; mixed in quick slide steps home when needed. Arm action is long and loose, straight over-the-top slot, closed-toe landing, gets out front and on top. He punched out eight batters in his five innings of work against Rhino Wisconsin on Saturday, allowing just one run on six hits, two walks. Was primarily mixing his fastball and curveball on this day. Fastball had downhill tilt with slight natural cut on occasion, 73-75 mph, topped 77 mph a couple of times; it played up with his ability to hide the ball. Curveball, 1/7 plane with above-average depth, feel for strikes, 63-65 mph.

Illinois Indians Red

Jack Alport, OF, Buffalo Grove (IL), 2022
Right handed hitting outfielder. Alport hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, shows balance through his swing. Short level bat path, line drive hitter, works the middle of the field, fluid rhythm. Has an ability to get on base any way he can. Alpot has a knack for putting the barrel to baseball. Is your prototypical lead off hitter. Works counts and ends up on base in almost every at bat.

Dominic McKevitt, SS, Saint Viator (IL), 2022
6-foot-1, 160-pound shortstop. Long loose frame, higher ceiling body type. Athletic runner, live body with long stride. Right-handed hitter with long levers, creates lift and showed above average power off the bat. Turned the centerfielder for a triple against GRB Yellow. Against CBT, went 2-for-3 with a pair of hard hit singles, driving in two runs. Finished the tournament 4-for-12 with a triple, six runs batted in, four runs scored and three walks.

Charlie Saul, UTL, Batavia (IL), 2022
To say Saul had himself a game against CBT is an understatement. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound first basement has an athletic build with a projectable frame. At the plate, Saul starts in a tall and open setup, a high leg kick stride, and his hands fall back into his load. He showed short and level swing path paired with great feel for the barrel. He finished the game 4-4 with a single, a pair of two-run doubles, and a three-run triple. He showcased gap-to-gap power as well, as all three of his extra base hits went to different parts of the field. In the field, Saul’s athleticism allows him to play a variety of positions. He saw action at 4 different positions this weekend, starting a game behind the plate, one at second, one at first, and one in the outfield.

Illinois Lightning

Brendan Max, OF, Libertyville (IL), 2022
Athletic build. 5-foot-8, 145 pound left/left outfielder. Hit out of the two-spot for IL Lightning. Slightly open setup, smooth load, short stride, slight leg kick. Quick hands, level path to the baseball, hands start and stay in a strong hitting position, consistently made hard contact.

Carter Kaye, RHP, N/A (IL), 2022

Curveball ranged between 58-60 mph, 12/6 shape, used as a swing-and-miss offering. Located all three of his pitches well, kept hitters off balanced, showed feel for himself on the mound. Threw five innings, striking out nine batters and only walked one.

Daniel Pacella, 1B, Mundelein (IL), 2022
The Illinois Lightning saw some power in their lineup from their four hitter. The 6-foot-2, 185 pound first basemen put one over the center field wall in his last at bat of the game against STiKS-Red. He had a balanced setup with a long stride that was able to generate power and solid contact on the baseball. Aside from his homerun, Pacella showed patience at the plate by walking twice. Continued his power streak against ISA Stars, launching two home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in seven runs. Appeared on the mound as well against ProPlayer Canes - Freund on Friday night. Long and loose arm action, over-the-top slot. Deceptive delivery, hides the ball well. Fastball touched 78 mph, sat between 75-77 mph.

Indiana Nitro 15u Gold

Ashton Bandy, RHP/SS, Monroe Central (IN), 2022
Strong, athletic build. RHP/shortstop for Indiana Nitro. Started on the mound against Great Lakes on Friday morning. Fastball topped at 78 mph, sat between 75-77 mph and flashed arm side run. Changeup was thrown near fastball arm speed and played at 68-70 mph. Curveball was used sparingly, thrown at 65 mph, 11/5 shape. Started at shortstop against NEO baseball on Saturday morning. Defensively, had one ball hit to him in right field in the game. Made the play and threw it to home, stranding the runner at third. Got under the baseball, set his feet well, and delivered an accurate and strong throw to home plate.

Ben Gomez, RHP, Cathedral (IN), 2022
Athletic build. Tossed 4 ⅓ scoreless innings in relief for Indiana Nitro, striking out four and surrendering three hits. Long and loose arm action, worked exclusively from a sidearm slot, deceptive motion that was not easy to pick up. Favored a fastball that touched 73 mph and ranged between 69-71 mph with natural run from his delivery. Sparingly showed a cut pitch some lateral movement that sat between 66-68 mph. Found himself as the game went on and improved in the later innings.

Josh Kern, INF, Noblesville (IN), 2022
5-foot-9, 143-pound right-handed hitting outfielder/middle-infielder. Athletic build. Tall, balanced setup, slightly open, smooth load, short stride. Quick hands, level path to the baseball, hands separate well, simple and compact swing. His quick and simple swing continues to make consistent hard contact and tear up opposing pitching. Finished pool play 6-for-9 with four extra base hits, including a home run, and five RBIs.

The 5-foot-11, 165 pound right handed pitcher started on the mound for Nitro on Friday against Pro Player Canes. He throws from a ¾ arm slot and the action is clean and short. He has a drop and drive delivery and finishes by landing square. His fastball showed some arm side run and sat 76-78 mph, topped at 79 mph. His curveball showed 11/5 shape and was 66-69 mph. Andrew Jones, RHP/SS, Burch (OH), 2022
One of the most impressive overall athletes playing at The Rock this weekend. He's a wiry 6-foot-2 and is highly projectable. In NEO's first game of the tournament, Jones led the game off with a homer to left, lagging his barrel through the zone. He also started the game on the bump for his squad where he stole even more attention. Jones works with a rhythmic, quick-tempo, high knee up into slight hip turn. Can open up a little early which leads to occasional command issues, but arm action is fast, loose, from a high ¾ slot. Fastball on Thursday sat at a live 80-82 mph, hard and downhill. He also came in to pitch in relief on Sunday and was sitting more regularly 83-84 mph, with a ball that really jumped from his hand. In both outings, Jones mixed in an aggressive slider, 73-74 mph, working off a downer plane, with above-average break and bite; real swing-and-miss potential. Was also savvy enough to mix in a curveball when necessary, 12/6 shape, depth, 67-69 mph. And when he’s not pitching he slides in at shortstop, where his premium athleticism fits right in.

Zac Tizzano, LHP, Villa-Angela St. Joseph (OH), 2022
Strong, physical build. 6-foot-3, 190-pound left-handed pitcher. Came in relief against Indiana Nitro and tossed 3 ⅔ innings with six strikeouts and no walks. Long and loose arm action, over-the-top slot. Lands closed off to his target and throws slightly across his body, creating some deception. Ran is fastball up to 77 mph and sat between 75-76 mph with natural cut to it. Also featured a slider that sat between 68-69 mph, thrown with fastball arm speed and from the same arm slot. Struggled with the slider early on, but adjusted and got better with it as the game went on. Used it primarily as his strikeout pitch. Projectible left-handed pitcher with room to mature.

High hand eye and bat to ball skills, minimal swing and miss, looks on time every swing. Advanced pull side pop, ball jumps of the barrel, low effort -hard contact. Curveball has 1/7 shape with depth down at times, power type, occasional early break off the hand.

Josh Hatano, RHP/SS, Park (MN), 2022
Helped his team complete pool play undefeated with a complete-game shutout. Hatano struck out 10 in seven scoreless innings. Fastball played 76-77 mph throughout. Hatano likely projects best on the infield where he showed a high level of feel and savvy for the position. Actions are smooth and easy, showed ranged to both sides as well as above average body control and enough arm to play the left side. High follow defender on the infield. At the plate on Sunday, Hatano showed a smooth swing that keeps his barrel long through the zone. Hatano showed good carry and power on a long double that landed on the warning track in left-center field. Hatano also added a single to left field on Sunday.

Richter’s low-80s fastball played up, featuring late life and carry through the zone, and he also dodged bats with an above-average breaking ball, 63-64 mph, and a changeup, 72 mph. He also came up big for Northstar at the plate, too, by going 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs. He added three more hits on Saturday for an undefeated NorthStar Navy squad.

The small framed, right-handed hitter had a balanced set up with a toe-tap stride. He had a level path to the baseball which produced line drive base hits.

PTA

Tyler Bell, 2B, N/A (WI), 2022
The scrappy second basemen showed well in his game against the Minnesota Starters. Bell controlled his body working well laterally while showing off his range in the hole.

Carson Fluguar, OF/SS, Franklin (WI), 2022
Long and loose build, high-waisted athletic right/right versatile prospect. Bounced all around the field defensively, fits in most places while using his premium athleticism. Raw at the plate, but shows barrel feel. Had a base hit in all four of PTA’s games, including a deep triple into the right-center gap on Thursday. Opposite-field approach, pre-pitch rhythm, loose hands, short and flat path to the ball. Has above-average foot speed once he gets going, with strong instincts on the basepaths.

 Connor O’Reilly, C, N/A (WI), 2022
Stocky build. Three-hole hitter showed hard contact especially on a 2 RBI double to the wall. O’Reilly collected 5 RBI on the day and proved to hit the ball to all fields with a nice inside out swing on an inside fastball. O’Reilly also posted a 2.31 pop time from behind the dish.

RakeCity

Jayden Cummings, OF, St. Laurence (IL), 2022
Rake City leadoff hitter, showcased game-changing type of speed on the bases. Cummings pulled up early on a groundout to first base and ran a 4.43 down-the-line. He followed that up with a 4.30 on a groundout to shortstop in his final at-bat. Cummings also scored from second base on an errant pickoff throw that did not leave the infield. Highly-athletic, table-setter type.

Waylan Deck, RHP, Homewood-Flossmoor (IL), 2022
Wiry, slender build, upside frame. Arm played deceptive out of ¾ window, loose action. Fastball played with arm side action, 77-79 mph. Showed slider at 68 mph. Deck struck out 10 in six innings pitched, scattering just four hits and one run.

Estevan Moreno, SS, Montini Catholic (IL), 2022
6-foot, 168-pound shortstop. Premium defender on the dirt, advanced actions, likely to stick at shortstop at the next level. Showed instinctual actions with natural timing and awareness. Easy defender, showed best when on the move, plus body control for age, soft hands transfer to athletic arm action with ability to work from multiple slots. Arm showed carry at times. Right handed hitter, athletic setup, showed feel for barrel and hit in the middle of the lineup with above average pop. Hit three home runs on championship Sunday, including two home runs in the championship game that were no-doubters. Came on in the final inning to close the championship game out as well, fastball touched 85 mph, sat between 82-84 mph.

Anthony Nino, C, Von Stubeun (IL), 2022
Solid glove work behind the plate. Flashed the ability to get underneath the low pitch and had good body control throughout his receiving. Nino displayed the ability to block the ball well to all directions and recorded pop times of 2.34 and 2.38.

Luka Radicevich, RHP, Joliet Catholic (IL), 2022
Lean, athletic build. Right-handed pitcher. Appeared in relief multiple times throughout the tournament, including in the championship game against Prairie Gravel. Loose arm action, ¾ slot. Effort present in his delivery, falls towards the first base line. Fastball touched 85 mph, played between 82-84 mph. Curveball featured 11/5 shape, thrown for strikes, sat between 70-72 mph.

Rhino (WI)

Ethan Cole, LHP, Winnebago Lutheran (WI), 2022
Cole emerged as a follow left-handed pitcher in the 2022 class after his start for Rhino (WI). He has a long, projectable frame, loose, clean arm action and sat comfortably at 77-79 mph. Showed feel for a 1/7 curveball with depth and shape at 67-68 mph.

Cole VanBever, RHP, Waupun (WI), 2022
Compact/athletic build, right-handed pitching prospect. Wide set on the mound, rocks into big hip turn, shoulders work closed, lands closed too. Arm circle is short, a little stiff, works through high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 76-77 mph in the first inning, settled into a 73-75 mph range from there. Curveball varied in between 12/6 and 11/5 shape, above-average depth, some early break but showed ability to locate, 62-64 mph. Tossed a complete game against a sound Illinois Indians lineup on Saturday. His strike-throwing abilities helped him compete and shutout the Indians through five. Weak contact and a couple of defensive miscues tied things up, but VanBever allowed Rhino Wisconsin to at least end it tied, 3-3, when he bailed his team out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the seventh. He coaxed a force out at home to earn the first out and a nifty 6-4-3 double play ended it. VanBever’s final line: CG (7 IP), 3 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K.

Rhino Baseball- Blaesing

Corey Boyette, OF, Romeoville (IL), 2022
Boyette showed great instincts in CF for Rhino Baseball. The 5-foot-10 speedster showed plus range to both gaps. Boyette’s first step was quick especially while coming in on the ball.

Nick Kolze, RHP, Romeoville (IL) 2022
Kolze had one of the day’s most impressive outings on the mound. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound righty sat 83-85 mph, touching 86 mph, twice through Minnesota Blizzard’s order. His ability to mix in a power, hammer 12/6 breaking ball helped earn a number of swings and misses.

Christian Mitchelle, RHP, Plainfield East (IL), 2022
Sturdy build, right-handed pitcher. Delivery works uptempo with pace to play, aggressively pounds the zone. Arm works fast from over-the-top slot. Fastball thrown with conviction, played 80-82 mph, with tilt at times. Showed a curveball at 69-72 mph.

Abram Wills, RHP, Coal City (IL), 2022
Wills had an impressive one-inning stint out of the bullpen for Rhino Baseball. He has a loose, clean arm action and went right after hitters. Wills worked both sides of the plate with a fastball that sat 83-84 mph, touching 86 mph twice. On top of the live fastball, Wills showed feel for a sweeping breaking ball at 68-72 mph. He’s become a high-follow 2022 arm moving forward.

Victor Izquierdo, C, Lockport, (IL), 2022
Imposing frame. 6-foot, 200-pounds. Izquierdo hit fourth for Rhino Baseball going 2-for-4 with a 2B and three RBI. He singled on a hard ground ball up the middle that left the infield turf in a hurry and sent a double to his opposite field gap showing the ability to stay on baseballs away. There is present rhythm in his swing and natural lift to all fields, impressive for his classification.

Slammers-Coyote

Owen Housinger, 2B, Stevenson (IL), 2022
Leadoff batter for Slammers-Coyote stood out during the 8:00 pm matchup between STiKS Red and the Slammers. The 5-foot-8, 150 pound right-handed hitting second baseman went 3-for-3 with three singles and a walk. He has an open stance with a minimal load and a line drive approach at the plate. Path is short and stays inside the baseball. He also played a clean defense while turning a double play at 2nd.

Gabe Lynch, OF, Lake Forest (IL), 2022
Right-handed hitting outfielder. Athletic, projectable frame with a strong build. Has an open setup and uses his stride to bring himself square. On the weekend went 4-for-12 with a double, four RBIs, three runs scored, and drew two walks.

Cade Nowik, RHP/3B, Lake Forest (IL), 2022
Strong build. Played 3B and batted second. At the plate, balanced setup, leg kick stride, level path to the baseball. Bat stays in the zone for a long time. Found the barrel a number of times, making hard contact in each of his four at-bats against Kards. Finished 3-for-4 with a pair of singles up the middle, a triple off the wall in right, and drove in two runs. In the field, showed fluid footwork and a clean exchange. Long arm action, played accurate across the diamond. Took the mound over the weekend, too. Also took the mound against NEO Elite on Sunday. Rocks into quick-tempoed wind-up, high knee, closed landing. Compact arm circle, quick and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball, hard and heavy, 80-82 mph, T83 mph. Did not see an offspeed in his lone inning of work. Struck out the side in a 1-2-3 save situation.

Joey Wizceb, LHP, Vernon Hills (IL), 2022
Lanky, athletic frame with long limbs. Left handed pitcher with a deceptive delivery, hiding the baseball from the batter until he releases it. Short draw, loose arm action, arm works out front from a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 70-72 mph, touched 74 mph. Played with arm side run. Flashed a changeup with arm side run and slight sinking action. Maintained fastball arm speed on changeup.

Starters 15u

Michael Gabbard, C, Prior Lake (MN), 2022
Lean, athletic build. 5-foot-7, 145 pounds. Right-handed hitting catcher, balanced setup, minimal load, short stride with a toe-tap. Simple and compact swing, doesn’t do too much, quick hands, goes with the baseball, barreled up two doubles to his pull-side. Started behind the dish for Starters in the quarterfinal game against Prairie Gravel. Went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a sac bunt. Used a smooth swing and quick hands to drive two doubles over outfielders’ heads in LF and CF respectively against PBA Wisconsin. Defensively, recorded an in-game pop time of 2.21 where he threw a runner out. Soft receiver, quick and clean exchange, adept blocker. Showed great instincts on a sac bunt, got around the baseball, was vocal, delivered an accurate throw to first base.

Kyle Hvidstein, CIF, Jordan (MN), 2022
Strong, physical frame. 5-foot-11, 210 pound right-handed hitter. Hit out of the three-hole for Starters against Prairie Gravel in the quarterfinal game. Went 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Slightly open balanced setup, short stride, slight leg kick. Ball jumps off the bat, made hard contact throughout the game. True power potential in his frame and swing.

Maddox Mihalakis, SS, Hopkins (MN), 2022
At 6-foot-1 155-pounds, he glides around the infield and showed silky actions at short. Rangy actions on the infield, longer strider, plays easy, arm plays with carry and accuracy, short over the top arm action quick release. His left-handed stroke plays inside out and short to the baseball with a natural tendency to play to the opposite field. He shows above average barrel control, and at times looks as though he can just play pepper with the left side of the diamond. The left-handed hitting shortstop hit lead off for the Starters first game torching a double to the left-center gap and scored the first run of the game. Mihalakis followed that up with another opposite field single. Mihalakis showed good foot speed in the field and on the base paths finishing the game with 2 stolen bases.

Alex Jensen, OF, Prior Lake (MN), 2022
Jensen finished the game strong on Saturday recording two 2Bs to the right center gap. Jensen stays on the pitches hard and soft away and shows carry to the opposite field. Jensen gets good reads on the ball and used his skills to make a diving catch in the second game of the day.

Anthony Kuth, RHP, Chanhussen,(MN), 2022
Showed promise on the mound. Plenty of room to grow physically into his high-waisted 5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Kuth went four innings maintaining his 75-76 mph on his fastball with a curveball at 60-61 mph. He filled the zone all day with both; FB was straight and worked to both sides of the dish and he showed feel to spin a 11/5 shaped CB with depth.

STiKS Black

Brayden Cooper, RHP, Catholic Memorial (WI), 2022
6-foot-1, 175-pound right handed pitcher who came in relief during his team’s matchup against Hitters Navy. Pitched two innings, giving up no runs and striking out two. Athletic frame with an over the top, short delivery. Finishes his delivery by landing with his front foot square. Fastball played straight and sat between 78-81 mph, topped at 82 mph. Curveball showed 12/6 shape and was 64-66 mph.

Logan Dobberstein, RHP, Pewaukee (WI), 2022
Settled in after a rocky first inning. He allowed two runs on a pair of walks and hit by pitches each, but did not allow a run the rest of the way, in his five innings. Dobberstein is a high-waisted 6-foot-6 right-hander with premium projection and a fastball that ranged from 79-82 mph in the first and dropped only a couple ticks down through his next five innings of work. The running fastball worked well in conjunction with a breaking ball he felt out for strikes and swings and misses after that bumpy first.

Rory Fox, RHP, Catholic Memorial (WI), 2022
5-foot-11, 165 pound right-handed pitcher. Has solidified himself as one of the state’s top 2022 talents. Younger brother of left-handed pitcher and Duke commit Luke Fox (Catholic Memorial, 2020). Athletic frame with repeatable delivery. Arm action plays out of a short over the top window. Finishes his delivery by landing with his front foot square. Fastball had life and played 81-82 mph. Showed a 12/6 curveball with depth, 71-73 mph. Hit two-hole and played shortstop for STiKS Academy Black finishing 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. A confident demeanor in the box, the 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic left-handed hitter has a fluid path with rhythm through contact and present bat speed. He flew out deep to right in his first AB and drove a two-run single to right putting his team on the board early. Aggressive on the basepaths, looks to advance. Ranges both ways easy at short, sure hands and gets rid of the ball quickly. High follow 2022.

Payton Frehner, 3B, Waukesha North (WI), 2022
Frehner had a day at the plate on Thursday against Hitters Navy. He went 2 for 2 with a double, single, and a walk. The right-handed hitting 3rd baseman batted 5th in the line-up. He has a tall lean frame and an open setup at the plate. He has a long stride and lowers his hands during his load.

Aiden Haney, 2B, Catholic Memorial (WI), 2022
5-foot-6, 130 pounds, compact/athletic build. Started at second base and at or near the top of the lineup for STiKS Black all tournament. Combined to go 6-for-11 with three walks and four stolen bases in the team’s four tournament games. Confident approach, sets up in a balanced/athletic stance with a short and twitchy leg lift/hang stride. Quick/athletic hands, level path to the baseball, rhythm throughout swing, active hands allow him to find the barrel with relative ease. Has a plan at the plate with the in-game situation in mind; willing to spray contact to all fields in order to reach in any way necessary. Once he’s on, he’s constantly looking to take the extra base – stole four bases over the week. A reliable defender at second where the twitch plays and the athleticism helps enlarge his side-to-side range; arm strength is average, but his quick release and transfers help his throws play up.

Carson Hansen, 1B/LHP, Pewaukee (WI), 2022
Athletic build. 5-foot-11, 160-pound left/left first baseman. Went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs out of the four-hole against Top Tier North. Hasen has put together a tremendous week and he slugged a three-run homer on Saturday to add to it. What was even more impressive about the home run was Hansen’s barrel feel – he let the bat lag through the zone on an offspeed pitch and still managed to elevate and barrel it up to push it over the right-center fence. Slightly open setup, smooth load, short stride. Swings a quick bat with some pop, showed a pull-side approach, hands start down but come up into a strong hitting position during load. Consistently made hard contact throughout the game, even when he got out. Showed feel for the bag at first base, looks the part.

Charlie Jarvis, C/OF, Arrowhead (WI), 2022
Strong, athletic build. Right-handed hitting catcher. Balanced setup, smooth load, short stride with a toe-tap, transfers weight well during load. Quick hands, ball jumps off the bat. Went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs against Top Tier North. Absolutely smoked a double to straight away center field to essentially clinch his team the victory. Defensively, recorded an in-game pop time of 2.23 twice. Natural receiver, soft block, strong arm behind the plate. Vocal, leader on the field, completely confident in himself both behind the dish and at the plate.

Levi Kline, C, Baraboo (WI), 2022
Showed his defensive prowess behind the plate for STiKS Black this afternoon. He blocked numerous dirt balls with fast feet and a quick block and recover technique not letting a single ball get to the back stop. He also clubbed a no doubt three-run HR over the left field wall late in the game to put his team ahead for good.

Samuel Meidenbauer, CF, Waukesha West (WI), 2022
Athletic, lean build. Right-handed hitting center fielder. Went 2-for-2 with two singles and an RBI against Top Tier North. Balanced setup, minimal stride with a toe-tap. Quick hands, simple and compact swing. Impressed defensively in center field. Reads the ball off the bat well, quick jumps, has speed, covered a lot of ground, plays athletically in the field. Projectibile frame that is already an advanced defensive center fielder for his age.

Carter Tower, RHP, Oconomowoc (WI), 2022
Lean, athletic build. 6-foot-4, 150-pound right-handed pitcher. Started against Top Tier North on Friday afternoon. Long and loose arm action, high ¾ slot. Lands slightly closed, works in line with his target. Tossed a complete game, striking out five. Fastball touched 76 mph, sat around 74-76 mph. Featured both a slider and a curveball. Slider ranged between 67-70 mph, showed feel for pitch. Curveball played at 62-63 mph, 11/5 shape, favored slider. Very projectible frame, should fill out as he matures.

STiKS Red

Nolan Carrington, 1B, Arrowhead (WI), 2022
5-foot-10, 187-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Went a combined 2 for 4 on Thursday during his team’s matchups against IL Lightning and Slammers-Coyote. Strong build with an open and wide set up, uses a toe tap stride to bring himself square. Easy, effortless, and balanced swing.

Got better as the game went on, polished on the mound, worked out of some tough situations. Showed out at the plate as well, went 3-for-3 with three singles and three RBIs. Balanced setup, minimal load, short stride. Swings a quick bat, level path to the baseball, made hard contact on all three of his, sprayed the ball to each side of the field.

Braden Gonzalez, C, Geneva Community (IL), 2022
Well above average defender behind the dish, sturdy build, durable, strong lower half. Arm played up with short over the top stroke, quick release. 2.19 pop between innings, threw out a runner at 2.26. Right-handed hitter, flashed above average pop.

Zack LeBrec, RHP, Cary-Grove (IL), 2022
Right-handed pitcher who showed one of the better fastballs on Thursday out of the ‘pen, sitting 82-84 mph with relative ease and feel, pairing it with a sweeping slider – good for five strikeouts in just two innings pitched.

Jorgie Vazquez, RHP, Mount Carmel (IL), 2022
Pitched a stellar 5.1 innings, pounding the zone with quality strikes. He had some run on his 78-81 mph fastball which played well into a changeup he threw with confidence that featured similar lateral break. His curveball is more of a change-of-pace offering right now, but it helped him keep his opposition off balance. He was also 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI.

Top Tier North

Alex Cherian, OF, Niles West (IL), 2022
Lean, athletic build. Right-handed hitting outfielder. Hit out of the leadoff spot against STiKS Black. Balanced setup, long stride with a leg kick. Mason Krznarich, 1B, Arrowhead Union (WI), 2022
Strong build. 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI double and a walk out of the four-hole for Top Tier North against STiKS Black. Slightly open setup, smooth load, short stride, slight leg kick. Bat has some juice in it, showed a pull-side approach, hands separate well. Crushed a double to the right-field fence.
